To WIN. Rockets could have improved roster even more if they were willing to pay LT. Nothing is guaranteed, but Rockets had opportunity to make roster better and decided to save money instead.

why would you have serious doubts. the rockets are just going to leave 3 open spots on the roster. that wouldn't make much sense now would it

What moves did they not make for LT purposes?

We don't need a thing to beat the Warriors. We need DeAndre Jordan to beat the Sixers. Either that or we need the Raptors to take out the Sixers&Bucks.

can someone enlighten me, why the hell do we choose to send out picks to other teams just to dump some players, why not just waive them?

Good point...another reason I was leery of his purchasing the Rockets. There's a big difference between a "billionaire" and a billionaire.

Mirotic is an example of a great fit that we didn't pursue because of salary.

People think we gave up how many picks? to get under the luxury tax and are just going to go back over from buyouts ?

This is the final product lol

Shumpert can play. That wasn't about taxes. It was a move that allowed LT savings to even be possible.

Then why wouldn't they just waive Baldwin and Stauskas? They used a pick to dump the salary.

We'll see what happens, but I am guessing they juggle a bunch of 10 day guys, until the playoff roster deadline, when we get pro rated minimum guys who won't help the team.

I'll disagree with Bima here and say that while fans on clutchfans will turn on him, in general the fanbase won't care much.

We can add ONE buyout guy at full veteran's minimum without going over the LT.

We'll add one and then do what you suggested with the rest. That's my guess. Then at the last minute they'll potentially convert Danuel House.

The issue here is Chris Paul is declining and not getting any better. Harden is probably near his peak and will begin to decline soon. The more years the Rockets wait to "go for it", the less likely it will matter.

Punting this season is an admission that financials matter above all.

Reads more like projecting one’s own feelings about this onto the entire fan base. And at the same time absolving Morey of all blame.

In other words, we don’t want to place any blame on off season actions, favoring a “wait and see” approach, yet we can still say, “well, let’s still wait and see.”

i dont see that at all. once these guys are bought out, the rockets are going to be extremely aggressive in filling those spots.

    Inferring.

When we packaged Chriss into the trade for Shumpert (wouldn't have been necessary) we were removing ourselves from the option of getting any notable player after that because we'd need his contract. That's why I immediately disputed the rumors that we might still want Green or Taj Gibson or Mirotic. In order to get a player like that we would need to aggregate salaries. We made a decision to go under the tax. Shump had a low enough salary to let us do it.

Moral of the story here is don't buy a sports franchise if you cannot afford one.
