How about big spending Joe Lacob of Golden State Warriors? If Dolan would have Morey run the show and spend like he does, he would be preferable to the Tillman.

    Joe lucked into a dynasty.

The Warriors are going to likely pay luxury taxes of nearly $90,000,000 this season...... next year it would be $222,000,000 (A total payroll of $400,000,000) if they keep their core together.

Of course, a lot of that is accounted for with them charging $15,000 - $20,000 for membership fees per seat to for the right to purchase season tickets in their new arena (which is a cool $300,000,000).

Then there is Chase paying $20,000,000 a year for naming rights to the arena.

The Warriors also have grossed over $350,000,000 from their playoff runs the last four seasons.

So the Warriors are not really a fair comparison to any other organization. They have a team largely built through a previous GM, and incredible luck and the fortune of a new stadium in an area with the wealth to drop $20,000,000 for a "membership".

So you find a way for the other owners to get that type of revenue in, and you will see more teams pay the repeater tax like the Warriors say they will pay.

I think we can really create a team around this new lux tax saving fella. A perpetual fringe playoff squad is his specialty.

Big Spending Lacob got lucky with getting Green in the draft. The Warriors went through some really bad times to get a chance to pick Curry and Thompson and Lacob won a championship so he's spending money on continuing to win championships. If KD wanted to come to the Rockets then management without a doubt would pay the man. Every NBA team would do so. If the Rockets win the championship and make cost cutting moves then go ahead and complain. Trying to improve the team with what they have now without messing up the future is pretty hard and they're doing a good job right now.

this team has no future though. cp3 turns 34 in a couple months. if the owner is not paying for a contender this season (while harden is going WILT), then he's basically never going to pay for one.

    GSW acquires DeMarcus Cousins

    Toronto acquires Marc Gasol

    Milwaukee acquires Nikola Mirotic

    Philadelphia acquires Tobias Harris

.... and we acquire Iman freakin' Shumpert.

It's clear which teams are dead serious about winning a title, and which ones are into just saving money and making profit.

    Guess where Houston belongs.

So you're saying they should go out and pay max money for a big boy contender player. Who is the big boy contender player that's on the market right now and will the other team trade him? They tried to go after Butler. They offered 4 first round picks but even then people on this board were crying like they were dying. Now the same people are crowing on about luxury tax savings.

They did shed some dead weight from the roster. The problem is they added very little and gave up all the draft picks. I suppose they can still sign some rookie free agents

Some fans appear to take after the organization, frankly. I feel like I’ve seen lot of posts the last few months glorifying scoring records over winning a championship. Like, we’re not winning a ring anyway so let’s go all in on Harden breaking scoring records.

None of those teams have contracts like CP3's hindering them.

#metoo who were we going to get and how were we going to get them that would of made our team equal talent wise with the warriors this year? All these whiners need to answer that because that is exactly what they are whining about.

So we have to wait another 10-20 years for an owner who might not be cheap.

Stupid as he’s already said if they could make a move that would put them in serious contention to win it he would ok it. So what move should they of made that in your mind would have put them over the warriors.

GS is obviously several moves away from our reach so no one move is going to accomplish that. but when every single move you make is about shedding salary, let's be real now tilman's words don't mean jackshit. he is running this franchise exactly how he's run his restaurants. mediocre product w/ maximum margins he can squeeze out of the business.
