House should have been signed a month ago lol . Frankly , I'm cool with it if they try to dip under the tax next year . Or are just a bit over . What would really suck is if we try to go for that this year . We are still over so we would have to move nene .... ok no biggie , but then that means no one picked up in buyout market and no house to a long term . Both of which I am not cool with .
If Otto had a small contract, he would be helpful to us, as a 4/3. Eric would be better than him for sure, once he gets healthy. I think he is better than Otto even right now. Shumpert may reduce the defensive load that EG has to face.
Neither of these guys is likely to be a Rocket for long. The Rockets will try to move both of them is my guess. Dallas might do us a favor. We want the roster spots as the Rockets fully intend to pursue Wes Matthews heavily.
I never had Otto coming to Houston. I’m saying others did. I had Korver/O’Neale coming to Houston and Alec Burks was planned to help fill in the gap left by EGo. Shumpert strength is, ranked 4th best guard at switching defense......well Korver was ranked 10th. O’Neale is a 106 DRtg and tends to give Harden more difficulty than others. The hard part saleem was moving Knight/Chriss.....now the easier is to move Nene/Ennis/Hartenstein/EGo if the Rockets wish too. Rockets can put out there a contender now while getting payroll down to about $105 Mil to start free agency this summer...and be a player in FA/this short window of CP3/Harden. Rockets can buy off the small contracts of Staukas/Wade Baldwin and Shumpert is an expiring.
I'm sorry for my mistake, mon ami. You're far more daring than me. I like O'Neale, but I'm not too keen on Korver and Alec, although they would add depth. Bring House back if possible, I think he does want another chance. Trade Nik for a future 2nd.
I'm not entirely against moving EG, but useful forwards like Barnes or a young one for the future like Saric are out of our reach.
I'm crossing my fingers they can get moved for a Jamychal Green. I dont think the Grizzlies will care what expiring contracts they'll have, give them a 2nd rounder and call it a day.

I agree, House would be in the mix to return either after the G-league season or under new contract (depends on how much money is freed up today-trading deadline). I’m confident DeAndre Jordan will be bought-out and go to Houston.....Wade Baldwin or Nik Staukas could be bought out at that time. I’m confident Wes Matthews will be bought out and a good chance of being a Rockets.....see Wade & Nik above. There will be other buy-out candidates that would like to come to Houston.....this the roster spots with low amount of money for easy buy-out’s ourselves. I’m not a fan of Shumpert. Knicks begged teams to take him.....Cavs took him and then begged teams to take him last year. The entire Cavs team looked old and terrible and Shumpert was one of them. So they traded all the bums to LA and Utah to make LeBron happy. Shumpert is serviceable as a SG/SF but streaky as a shooter and slightly undersized going up against the lengthy teams such as Bucks and Warriors. Still the Rockets think they are going to do damage in the playoffs with a bunch of 6’4-ish guys, is a mistake. Korver is still dead-eye shooter that was shooting 46% from 3 while at Cavs and 41% from 3 while now with Jazz. And Harden CP3 would love the spacing he provides. One reason I’m disappointed in EGo.....his shooting has been lacking most of the year.....and a notorious poor defender.
I know Woj tweeted it, but I haven't seen any other reports on this other than the tweet, plus I'm too lazy to look at all the pages on this thread. Any other confirmed sources?
You are mistaken. Ryno's final year IS guaranteed , he just reduced the amount from $21.26m to $15.64m. Anderson sitting on the bench or Knight sitting on the bench - Doesn't matter. It'll be interesting to see how Shumpert fits and if he's resigned via bird / early bird rights. If he isn't retained , this is a short term move that really compromises their ability to acquire talent next season. They are done , other than possibly solving the House situation - They'll likely be taxpayers unless they move Nene for nothing (may have to add one of Hartenstein or Clark too - I haven't done the math) Morey has no more bullets to fire aside from possible buyouts , its possible he moves EG but that's doubtful. You are just wrong here …. no two ways about it. Do the math , they are 12m over next years projected cap with only 7 players on the roster. CP3 , Harden , Capela , EG , Tucker , Nene , Clark and Hartenstein …. $121.768m. That leaves you with 8 roster spots , one MLE , no draft picks , no TPE's. You'll have early bird rights on Green , Shumpert , Rivers , Faried. Do Rivers And Faried stay for 120% of the min ?? They are both vastly outplaying min contracts - I find it hard to believe they stay for that sum. Do you split the MLE between them ? If so how do you add more talent when the MLE was your only financial vehicle. Do they intend to retain Shumpert beyond this year ?! If not , whats your plan there ?! You only have One MLE. Gonna be hard to retain the current team and add anything to it with that little financial flexibility. You saw the total salary drop …. didn't see the fact that they are already capped out with no bullets to fire to get better. Keeping Knight (or better yet Ryno) was your financial vehicle to add talent to a team that's close. You lost that and now have to subtract to add - without a pick to trade in 2020 , have to use the 2021 pick. What are you going to get in return ?! Give me Ingles or forget it. EG isn't going anywhere.
