If no one wants to deal with your GM, that's an actual operational problem. He doesn't have access to the same resources as others. You would have to fire that guy because you're not going to change other teams' minds. I doubt it's the case though.
I saw "Suns," "Rockets," and "Ryan Anderson" and immediately thought the Suns traded Ryno back to us. Oh lawd.
I guess I'm afforded a luxury Morey wasn't, and that's hindsight. The injuries, the let down of those two guys, and the parity of the west turned this deal sour. Then again, looking at how I voted, I didn't like the deal back then either. Also, remember, Ryno in going to Phoenix gave up the last year of his deal as well, something he wasn't necessarily going to do now, or for the Rockets if they couldn't deal him around this time this year.
They would not have. Obviously they were trying to do something more meaningful. We may still get Ellington on buyout...
It's absolutely a timing issue, but that is why I hated the move when we made it. We turned Ryno into two unusable parts and it was blind optimism to think those guys could play. We are likely going to do it again with Knight now, pay a first to turn him into a marginal player on an expiring and people will celebrate. The next year when we can't make a move because we don't have an expiring contract to absorb a salary people will be mad. Remember it now. Saving these dollars and getting excited because you get to see a scapegoat get traded doesn't do anything to help the team.
The Heat will get under the tax probably and then they'll have a $15 million expiring in Ryno to use in trades after this year.
You know I used to think you were off base and overly emotional with your line of thinking on this topic. Now I’m starting to believe.
Melton, 20th pick, $15million expiring or 3 months of a replacement level player. Yet you have people still defending the penny pinching as “good win-now moves.” Hilarious.
Should’ve held onto him. Now they have to wait until next season to unload Knight and Chriss is a wasted roster spot.
@BimaThug seems to agree with me with regards to Knight. Doesn't want to pay a 1 to move him for fringe players just to save money @The Cat is a homer just like I am. He tries to find a positive spin for things because he knows Morey is smart and puts a lot of faith in him, but he's no dummy.
