    1. Um, I didn't say that, but with regards to the Korean detente I think it's true. I think under his administration we've seen some of the most positive things we've seen with regards to the Korean peninsula since 1953.
    2. Your rant about Trump is totally misplaced. Go read my posts again. I said I give Trump credit with respect to the Korean detente. I have not praised him any other singular way. Don't project sh*t on to me. I know you'd love to do that because it would make things easy for you but it's not true. I'm looking at this situation, because this is the thread about Korea, and this situation alone and coming to the conclusion that under the Trump administration things have generally gone very well compared to past administrations. It's called being fair minded and objective with respect to a solitary issue. Obviously, you and many others here, have "orange man bad" syndrome and cannot bear the idea of giving Trump any credit for anything.

    Okay I'll try not to...

Are you f***ing serious? You couldn't even finish a post before doing exactly what you're accusing me of doing. I'm done, go waste someone else's time.

You continue to misinterpret his ill conceived legitimation of a failed state as progress. His actions saved them from total collapse. How are we expected to agree that this was a good thing?

Yea, except none of what you say is in anyway supported by fact.

Point me to one scholarly article detailing how Trump saved NK from collapse.

Yea, dude, you just went on a pointless huge anti-Trump rant that has nothing to do with Korea and projected a bunch of Trump stuff on me with no basis.

Talk about a waste of time.

One of trump's biggest problems is trump himself, and his unwillingness or inability to tell the truth. So with respect to to north korea, he reported back that he got the hostage back (true), he got the remains back (maybe, has he? Last I knew there were boxes of unmarked remains, with no identification), and that nk agreed to denuclearization (did not happen).

If trump met and then reported back that "we got back hostages, we are working to identify remains and we are working n an agreement to denuke"... kudos. But trump never tells the truth. So we will have a new meeting to negotiate denuclearization. Forgive me if I am skeptical...

I mean, I think we are all skeptical of NK's commitment to denuclearization. I think if/when NK ever denuclearizes that will probably be the greatest foreign policy achievement of the 21st century.

In the interim, I think we have seen tangible positive steps taken under his administration that we haven't seen before vis-a-vis the North, South and U.S. and that is a credit to Trump.

Looks like we received a bunch of remains?

    You missed the part:

Still no documentation of which remains, whose remains, correct?

Apparently now 3 sets of the 55 have been identified.

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/soldier-identified-remains-held-north-korea-60606478

I'm certainly no expert on the process so I'm not sure what to expect with regards to a timeline/practicability of positively identifying all 55 of these guys. I have no reason to believe the NK's aren't being truthful as regards to this though if that's what you're getting at.

    From the article you linked:

trump previously said nk returned the remains of 200 Americans...

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-north-korea-has-returned-remains-of-200-us-war-dead

Again, trump is either unwilling or unable to tell the truth.

Ah, I thought we were just have a genuine discussion about the number of identified remains that have been returned. No surprise you have to leverage that in a chance to sh*t on Trump.

    Looking at the situation:

Trump getting U.S. service members remains - Thumbs up.
Trump exaggerating that number - Thumbs down.

Take away what you want from it, I think the larger take away is U.S. service members remains are being returned home. That's awesome. Trump exaggerating it, not so much.

Or... question why trump felt the need to lie about the number of remains returned AT A RALLY? And not just "exaggerate" a little... but four times the number? Then... imagine you are one of the families whose loved one was left behind in north korea. And you hear that the remains of 200 Americans were returned. Only to find out the number was really 55 (ignoring the question as to whether the 55 remains were all American soldiers).

But hey... trump was able to brag at a trump rally... so its all good...

    trump lies... about everything.

    Good lord.

Trump gets [some number of] U.S. service members remains returned after 60+ years and all you can think to do is try and find someway to sh*t on him for it.

    Talk about "Orange man bad"

    Give it a rest.

The [some number of] is currently 3. Hopefully it grows to 55. But for the other 145 American families... well, you mustn't be upset, else someone will say "orange man bad".

And trump supporters... don't care if he lies (in this case), to America and families of military left behind in north korea. They don't care if he lies at all... they will defend him no matter what. Yea... "orange man bad" if that is what you call pointing out he outright lied.

You don't speak for the families of the veterans. Neither do I. I think it's highly disrespectful for you to assume their feelings. So your assumptions that they are wounded by Trumps exaggeration with regards to numbers is just that. An assumption. I can't see why they would be wounded by his exaggeration.

I imagine those families are happy some remains are being brought home, hopeful its their loved one and are generally positive about the fact someone has finally done something about it, and will try and continue doing something about it. Unlike the previous administrations.

This is so seriously ****ed up on so many levels that a very large part of me wants to believe that the POTUS didn't actually say it.

    Alas, reality calls.

Yea, we know it’s crazy. But that’s not so unusual or interesting anymore. I’m more curious on why now? Ads for the summit coming up? Some indication of major policy change toward NK?
