Burks can help now, Knight cannot so yay?!
But Burks is more than likely a 3-month rental.
Knight becomes a $15.6M expiring trade chip.

    Take Knight's $15.6M off
    Burks expiring
Your only worthwhile salaries for trade purposes are Capela/$16.3M, Gordon/$14M & Tucker/$8.3M.

...but all in the name of LTS.

I'm with Bima. I'm keeping the first and my $15M trade chip. You can have Burks for 2 1/2 months while losing your first.

FWIW, Chriss is also being dumped to the Cavs.

This year it has been excellent. Nearly 45% on 3s and a 65.6% eFG% overall on catch and shoot.

2017-2018 was a disaster year shooting for him from catch and shoot, but all other years it looks like he was 40%+ from 3pt land on catch and shoot.

you guys have to stop living in last year. the fact is, we didnt win it last year, and what worked last year, isnt working this year. it is fair to bring up cousins, because they got him, and we will still have to go through them to win whether they "lucked" into him or not. there were plenty of other teams he could have gone to for a mid level but he chose them. he didnt call up morey and say sign me up.

we keep putting these rag tag misfits around james and he bails the FO out to make it look like the rockets have a chance. the reality is, you cant depend on players like that in the playoffs....they tend to go 0-27 in the biggest games.

Yeah, getting Rivers and Faried for nothing really backfired, didn't it?

Don't understand the sky is falling responses in here... it is not the end of the deadline and this has improved our roster right at this moment (although not by much).
If it leads to something significant even better.

another move to save Tilman some $$

Burks is okay as a role player since EG is injured again but he's not going to move the needle.

This just basically means Morey was unable to find any game-changers (as predicted) and we're just in save-money mode for Tilman. This season's a wash to Tilman and we're trying for next season. At least Harden will probably win b2b MVPs.

Yeah, we would basically lose a 20/22 pick in the first round as today, and Knight's expiring contract, to get Burks for a couple of months and lower the salaries, eh...

@Swiss Roll Got it...the salaries don't match so there would have to be more to it and it would put Cleveland over the luxury tax line. Curious what else will happen

I still say Burks would be destined for a third team.

firstly, there is nothing wrong with that. Secondly, Burks is an expiring contract, Knight is owed $15 million dollars next season. Would you rather have a player who can play or a guy who is still trying to come back from horrible injuries ?

Houston are still in prime position to get back to the Western Conference Finals

I’m not living in last year, and I already said Morey has work to do this week to improve the team. However, please tell me who these rag-tag misfits the Rockets have put around Harden are? CP3? Capela? Gordon? Tucker? Everyone else has been thrust into bigger roles than they should be due to key injuries.

The bottom line is if most NBA teams missed their second, third, and fourth best scoring options for 46 games combined, they would be in the lottery after 53 games, not 9 games over .500. It’s also why James Harden has been playing with a rag-tag collection of misfits so far this season.

I love how the homers immediately go after Feritita instead of washed Morey. Fertita paid for the buyouts and Capela and that horrendous Chris Paul contract. I'm sure that if the talent is there, he wouldn't mind paying. Who's the one executing these terrible trades though? Morey. You don't think Morey can find another option around the same value?

"Crap, we're too small and have a lot of mediocre/average shooters on our team."
Morey, the genius GM: "I know, let's go get Burks!"
