I’d say Chris Paul is right up there with him. But perhaps Davis would be consider the greatest player they have had.

The biggest issue with trading four picks is not the value of the picks but rather that it prevents you from using a first round pick to manipulate your roster for nearly a decade.

    Exactly.
If the Lakers trade all that I'm ALL for AD going to LA.
They will have zero way to improve. A deadend team.

If on one hand you have :
    1) 4 1sts
    2) Ingram, Lonzo, Hart and Zubac
    3) capspace relief

Then you take it without looking back.

Of course there is a reason .
What if the Celtics lose in the 1st or 2nd round and Kyrie announces he's leaving?
Do you really believe that Danny Ainge will then put Tatum and 3 1sts on the table?
    No way.
Without Tatum they only have the Memphis pick as an interesting asset all the others are just meh.

    For sure.
I don’t buy for a second that management would wait until the summer. Way too risky, so much can change/go wrong.
I could end up being wrong, but it would be a very risky and poor decision to wait.

Man the Pelicans are ****ing delusional lol.

They want the young players the Lakers have offered PLUS 4 first rounders PLUS second rounders PLUS taking back Solomon Hill

    Why not?
They are negotiating from a position of power.
They are in no hurry to complete any trade but the Lakers are desperate for one.

Capela + 4 first round picks + whatever is better than anything the Lakers have to offer.

    This.

The deadline is in a couple of days. LA's baseline offer is already pretty big, so Demps is playing hard-ball in hopes to squeeze another asset out of Magic before Thursdays deadline. Smart GMing.

Why shouldn't they ask for the world if they are gonna make a trade before the team with the best assets (Boston) can bid?

Not understanding how folks here saying we have more to offer.

We got jack ****, nobody wants what we got for whatever we want to get. I thought that was clear.

We cant give them cap relief and our firsts will be much less valuable than the Lakers' ones.

    We could.

Capela, Chriss, 4 1st, + whatever Gordon nets to Pelicans

Ego to 3rd team for expiring('s) + asset

    Davis, Hill to Houston

Not that I think Pelicans would take Capela over Ingram and Kuzma, but we could theoretically offer cap relief.

Also, not sure how Hou's pick would be less valuable then Lakers. If Lakers get Davis through trade, they will land KD, Leonard, or Irving rather easily, on top of all that the ring chasers who would kill to live in so cal.

I would not look past Morey offering reverse protected lotto picks, they may take a really long time to transfer, but I'd bet he'd be willing to throw in one and that NO would be happy to take it over an additional late 1st.

They cant as far I know.
The only way they could ads two more max players would be first to sign one as FA and then trade for another. If they trade now for AD they dont have enough capspace for a full max.

Our firsts are worse because Lebron is 34. The second and third picks the Lakers will be giving have the potential to be lottery let alone the 4rth. While Harden is much younger and theoritically his prime should last long.
