If you say so. 3 points is still just 3 points. What would this MB be like if a BOB coached team only scored 3 points in the Super Bowl. What would you in particular be saying?
This is a three year rebulid. They just finished year one and that was without having high draft picks. Hopefully Gaine nails the draft/FA, but even if he does the new young guys are going to need to get a years experience before this team is a true contender. So, yes there will still be alot to debate, but I expect there to be a realistic debate, instead of what usually goes on around here. For instance anybody who thought last years roster was a super Bowl caliber roster was being unrealistic. Frankly the fact that BOB squeezed 11 wins out of that roster was amazing to me. Look at the WR's for instance in the last 2 games Watson had to throw too. Hopkins and a bunch of UDFA rookies. Yes I know Coutee made it back for the playoff game.
I agree. The defensive talent is very good, but O'Brien has amassed and developed a very weak offensive unit. They went 11-5 thanks to good defense, a weak schedule, lucky wins, and clutch play by hopkins/watson
Because the past GM chose not to spend $$$$ on the OL in FA and Draft like the Rams did. Whitworth/Sullivan in FA and drafted Havenstein. Who have both the past GM and Current GM drafted or signed in FA other than a bunch of backups and that turned out with predictable results. I expect the OL to get properly fixed this offseason. If not then I will be calling for heads to roll too. But not until then.
The GM's amass the talent. You need to accept that this is a 3 year rebuild and no amount of whining about BOB is going to change that.
GM's and coaches work together. That's why the defense under Crennel has been pretty good and the offense has sucked.
All of this comes down to who you feel is most responsible for current state of the Texans. You think it's mostly BOB, I think it is mostly Rick Smith. Was RAC's defense pretty good this yr? I would say no and next yr could show us how good the defense really is. I know RAC's defenses have a poor track record against top tier QB's. The NFC South, Brady etc... should be a real challenge for RAC and his defense.
Fair enough I wanted them both gone and a fresh start. Another place we disagree, with the talent level at OL/WR/RB I think BOB did a really good job.
I couldn't find the after game flight video posted back in 2011 so here goes my best Cush impression, use your imagination: Cushing to TJ Yates: " YOU'RE A BEAST WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" (doing 1,000 pushups and taking some unknown substance after this post)
Props on the Carl Smith hire. Glad to see an assistant who has experience and success and not just ties to O'Brien. Only assistant I'm semi-excited about. But still doesnt change the sad fact that Devlin is still on staff. #DevlinMustGo
Impressed by the Carl Smith hiring as well. Wish we could've gotten Dave Deguglielmo as the Oline coach. Devlin does need to go.
