What was wrong with the game? It was fine. Solid defense. Didn't watch the commercials, but half time seemed ok.
Not sure about the anger, but here is the reference to the nod https://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/article/why-spongebob-at-super-bowl-halftime-show-13585422.php
I guess the anger is that they teased SpongeBob but didn't follow through on playing Sweet Victory which was a big letdown. I know people who specifically tuned into to halftime to look for it.
I thought it sucked... but then I only watched it in the first place because my son was hyped to watch it. I don't watch an excessive amount of football outside of Texans, though. Like the other nationally televised games, I have to have a real interest... it has to clearly be a great game. I watched half of the Rams-Chiefs monday-nighter for example. So absent my kid, would have turned this off early... Even more so because halfway through I told him, this is going to be a boring game, and the Patriots will win in the end. He already hates the Patriots, so I encouraged him to just go to bed, do some reading, get ready for school... but he insisted on watching. Lol
Perhaps you missed the month-long pink sneaker wearing phenomenon? The NFL has been catering to the "fairer sex" for some time now. I could go on a rant about the commercials...but I'll just say there are many reasons I don't watch this event, or even much NFL, anymore.
Well probably, but I don't think it has invalidated my argument. Most mainstream media these days is going this way. And that's largely because...who watches the most TV?
Exactly right. NFL, Pepsi, Maroon 5, did the only unforgivable thing that could have been done. Ignoring it, would have been forgotten quickly, playing it, would have been legends, either would have obvious outcomes. Teasing it, without playing it... the absolute worst thing that could be done. Complete failure on marketing, crossover, generational, etc... failure. NFL is for old people and they don't get it.
Game was ok Ads were meh Trailers/teasers were mixed - Endgame teaser was a letdown - Our Planet looks amazing Halftime show was crap The spaghetti I made for my watch party was delicious, if I say so myself. Atlanta built a retractable butthole? Overall, this wasnt the worst SB but it was pretty meh. Houston is probably still safely in the SB rotation with New Orleans and Phoenix. At least, until LA and Vegas join the party.
Yep. For example, it's why I can't stand Olympic coverage. I'll watch the events that interest me, but it's obvious that women are the larger part of the TV audience, with all the human interest stories and the particular commercials they show. AND THE ANNOUNCERS, help me Jesus. Hoda Kolb or whatever her name is, exit stage left, please. Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be a misogynist rant. But when you put on these Justin Timberlakes and Maroon 5's and Katy Perrys, giving you the most forgettable halftime shows ever.......throw in equally forgettable commercials.......The football part, the actual game, becomes harder to sit through.
Pop music guest can afford to pay the fee I guess. They don't pay the halftime performers. Halftime performers actually pay to be featured which is crazy.
Whoa I had no idea. And to the people heating on the pats or the game being boring think about people’s only complaint of harden and the rockets. “They don’t play the fun way!!” “It’s so boring!!”
