I hear he is a free agent (correct me if I'm wrong). If he is, with the market like it is, i think we'd have a shot at him. He played for UH, so he knows Houston. Get him and draft well and I think we'd be doing pretty well next year.

I like watching Bo play - for the Magic!!

We need to bring in someone, but personally, I would like to bring in a sf with more offense than Bo, or i'd settle for a big guy who plays good D(like as many have suggested and torn down) B. Grant.

I love Bo's hustle, but I cringe whenever he touches the ball on offenese

I agree that he's got almost no offensive game, and that we need a good post player in the starting line-up, but boy does he pick the energy level for a whole team. And that kind of fits in with our new style. I like the idea getting him for the alleyoops alone. We could be a backcourt dominated team and still win.

You wouldn't want to sign Outlaw to be your frontcourt future. You'd want to sign him because he's a hard worker who could help mentor the young players we now have. This strategy would be much like Toronto's with the signings of A. Davis, Willis and the like. I think it would be a great idea for us, even if Outlaw will be no more than a role-player for us.

Moving to mechanics: I think Orlando also sees Outlaw's value in the above-described role and would want to keep him. However, they will have to renounce many free agents to sign Duncan or Hill (all of them, including Mercer, to sign them both). So if either of those guys leave their hometowns, that'll dump a good number of decent FAs onto the market, possibly including Outlaw, for teams like Houston to pick up for chump change. Unlike signing Duncan, I think this is a somewhat realistic scenario, and definitely one worth considering.

We already have a Bo Outlaw type player, his name is Kelvin Cato.

We need a post up player, one who can command a double team, to compliment our drive and dish offense.

Variety is the spice of life, and in the NBA it makes you a winner.

I really like Bo Outlaw as a player. First of all he played for UH. Secondly, he is a really energetic defender, who gets a lot of steals and blocks. He hustles and dives for loose balls. I think that a player like that is much more valuable than what you see on the stat sheet. Okay, he doesn't know how to shoot free throws and he doesn't score much at all, but with Francis and Mobley shooting the ball like 20 times each per game and Kenny Thomas developing a nice offensive game, you don't really need a forward who shoots the ball a lot. At least, Bo's shooting percentage is really high. I would say get Bo.

Good point Det. It's not like Bo is jacking it up 20 times a game. He's certainly not a shooter, but he hits a good percentage of his shots.

Besides, I like his glasses. [IMG]

Well its trading deadline time, so I figured it would be appropriate to see if there's any interest in this big guy, according to any sources anyone might have.

    Outlaw watch starts now.

Easily one of the greatest names of all time. ALL TIME. Spencer Dinwiddie could learn a thing or two.

This thread is old enough to enter the 2019 NBA Draft.

I always thought a Bo Outlaw or Austin Croshere would put the Rockets over the top.
