Rental or not idgafffff I would give up 4 future 1sts and rights to 3 1st rd swaps for AD. They can have capela and/or gordon also. No way he walks after being teamed up with harden, cp3 and this culture. After competeting, if not winning the ship, no way he walks bruv. AD+Harden would be other, flippin, wordly
Barkley obviously wanted to play in Houston, but he did it towards the end of his career to try and win a chip. Now Shaq, I don't think he even was thinking of Bryant, more of a market move and franchise history, and wanted to get out of Magic franchise not knowing what to do: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...o-magic-let-the-lakers-steal-shaquille-oneal/ When Shaq Joined LAL, Bryant looked like he could be special but was a rookie out of HS, he wasn't like MJ or something at the start (and having college experience). Just look at his first few years https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/bryanko01.html not even starting yet. Obviously West knew Bryant could be special and basically stole him from Charlotte for Divac, but it wasn't a guarantee, I mean look at all the HS busts. Obviously Kobe was special etc. Anyway this new **** is worse, ie players join up younger, or give up on franchises (obviously every case is different). But the level of colluding going on for the Heat was crazy, and then KD leaving OKC to join a winner was even weaker (not necessarily full on planning), just weak to join a loaded team. I think KDs move was weaker than LeBrons (decision etc.), I mean at least the Heat weren't loaded and winning at that time. It'd be like Jordan leaving to join the Celtics/Pistons when he couldn't get passed them. And Jordan wasn't leaving, he wanted to beat everyone, even his own teammates in practice.
Davis said his preferred destination is not Lakers. I guess it would be GS. https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...thony-davis-pelicans-request-public-rich-paul
Anthony Davis like Durant before him, have NEVER been a team workhorse like Harden. They get all the excuses made for them by the media because their agents are doing damage control behind the scenes. I would just laugh when people say davis, durant or even curry were better than harden. None of these players have been better than Harden since the start of 2017 season. And i go to realgm to get a laugh when people say giannis and curry are better than harden, but whenever i ask them to show proof. I end up getting temporarily banned. Realgm basketball has a certain power structure to the moderators, where curry is 2nd only to LeBron( and their is no stat that you can show them that will have you change their minds), those fools are still living in 2016
Woj: Ooutside of the Lakers, how are execs approaching this (that this could be a one-year rental)? It's a game of leverage right now. Davis & his reps want to push a deal towards the Lakers. You're trying to get the rest of the NBA to back off & have the Lakers make the best possible offer. New Orleans has seen nothing yet that would make them think they want to do a deal before the trade deadline. They see this as a long play into the summer. They went through this with Chris Paul. They've gone back & looked at the deal they did then, they know it's better to do no deal than a deal you don't feel good about. Saints are at the head of this ownership group - Mickey Loomis. There's a mentality of not giving in. Right now, they need to be blown away. They have time on their side. They'd like to get the Celtics into the bidding & can't do that until after the season.
Talking about "no loyalty" as his son is trying to leave his current team while still under contract lmao
you have to be an idiot to think ad's father really cares about i.t. This is all a manuever by rich paul behind the scenes to prevent the pelicans from holding out for bostons offer this summer. You think davis wants to pull a kawhi, davius wants to play but unfornately for ad the pelicans can hold on to him as long as they want.
Good, there is 0 reason for them to do favors for the Lakers. Everyone on ESPN and the media acting like there's some urgency here, there should be none. They can sit AD for the year if they want, whatever, trading him right now only does the Lakers favors and why do anything for them as they tampered to steal your player away? Get them bidding and wait for the offseason where things can drastically change. All the Pelicans can do now is acquire assets and draft picks and hope to get lucky with some of them.
Dallas will get him for JJ Barea. If Dallas not interested than Thunder will get him for Nerlens Noel. On the plus side, we are interested.
