I’ll believe it when I see it, but we need to be all over this. We’re a severely crippled team without Capela.
No, what I meant was that it's precisely because he's one of the few Rockets homers that I really want this to be true.
There aren’t many, that’s for sure. After looking at some rosters, the Kings have enough expiring contracts to absorb either guy. The Lakers also have enough to go pursue Jordan as a rental, but they will need those high-salary contracts in a potential deal for Davis. The Nets also have enough to deal for either player, and they are trying to get their young core in the playoffs.
The real question is this... With DJ coming, does a package of Capela + Ego (or filler) + all our picks get us into the sweepstakes for AD?
Oh, I see. You have a more optimistic view of things than I do. Lol. Well, we'll know in 7 days if additional help is coming.
How are they dumb exactly? The Knicks might as well field calls between now and next Thursday’s trade deadline to see if a team wants either player. If they remain on the roster past the trade deadline, then the Knicks will buy them out prior to March 1.
Zero percent chance the knicks trade either guy. They did this for cap space and trading either guy would almost assuredly kill that. Nobody has expiring in the 18+ mil range for either guy. It’s either buyout or they rot in NY for the last 30 games of the season which I honestly don’t see happening. NY needs/wants to play there young guys and lose a lot to get the number 1 pick. Not saying Jordan and Mathews playing would make them better because they prob don’t but they wouldn’t be able to play any their young guys as much and it’s possible they would win 3-4 more games with them getting playing time. Imo it’s a forgone conclusion that both are bought out including Kanter. The knocks accomplished their goals. They cleared the cap space for 2 max guys and didn’t have to give up any future picks to do it, they actually got 2 first round picks in return. Ppl might be shocked that they gave up KP but the knocks got done what they wanted to do from the beginning of the season and that’s clear two max spots and have a shot at the number 1 overall pick. Dallas got a lot better also. Hardway and lee will help them a lot once KP is back. Tim can be the secondary ball handler to luka lee is just a solid role player and they should it’ll have Barnes at PF and KP at center. One of the rare times we’re both teams clearly won and got what they wanted.
Also have to give up something. Kings seem like a possibility. Wouldn't even have to move much to make it work. Koufos, Randolph's contract and a pick for Jordan.
Sacramento is a real possibility. Wasn't thinking about them. They have the expiring deals. Brooklyn could do it as well. Either guy. Allen Crabbe and a pick, boom. Koufous, Randolph and a pick. Even if it's just 2nd rounders that would be good for them.
Nah, he'll still back up PJ. His playing time was gonna take a hit anyway after the All-Star Break when Capela returns. And I assume he knew this when he signed here.
Nets could include a future pick or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson in a trade package for either guy. But as you said, the market is very limited.
Ya I guess that could happen for Wes. Bit I don’t see it happening for both guys that’s just a lot of expirings when they just got 40m in expiring today to go along with 2 future first round picks.
There's a reason they've said they will keep them. My guess is they are trying to see if they can trade them. Brook and Sac would both be smart to give up at least some seconds, maybe a first for either guy. From NYK perspective they don't care who the expirings are.
Bucks would almost certainly be all over Jordan if he gets bought out. Could even start there potentially. I wonder if that would be enough to sway him considering he'd have to back up Capela in Houston.
