Tillman is probably scarred for life. Giving out $160 million to broken down CP3. Next time he has to shell out big bucks for a marquee free agent, he will be reluctant.

Did y'all think that deal was for 4 healthy years of CP3? That was 82 important cumulative games for four seasons, and considering we can't sign anybody nor do we have assets to replace CP3 with an equal or slightly lower value player, I'm okay with that.

Strange that it's CP3's back, considering Harden's been the one carrying the team all year.

I don’t think anything is seriously wrong. This is just an excuse to hold him out.

Clippers fans said Paul has injury everywhere in his whole body, shoulder to back to leg ......
    For any season,
Harden plays 70 games or less = Lottery pick

The Rockets care far more about CP3 being as healthy as possible in May and June, not February. Also, the Warriors rested Draymond Green on Monday, and the team’s next game was tonight. This kind of gamesmanship is just part of the current NBA landscape due to an increased reliance on analytics.

But we need to make the playoffs for this to matter, which doesn’t look like a given with the current state of things.

True, but James Harden has proven he can lead a team to 50 wins even surrounded by only role players. If he gets hurt, all bets are off, but as long as Harden stays healthy the Rockets aren’t missing the playoffs.

It may be legit BUT the rockets also intend to hold him out a lot the rest of the season. This may just be an excuse

CP was supposed to be the guy who can take the load off of Harden.

If he can't do that during the season, do it in the playoffs.

If he doesn't bring jack **** this time, no excuses for CP. For you guys who keep betting that handing CP the contract and its okay for him to sit right now, Ill wait patiently until the playoffs.

But that's all he gets. Harden is too good to be wasting his prime on a star player who can't take the load off of him.

Yes, let's just sit our maxed out number two guy, play our lone superstar 40 minutes a game, barely sneak into the playoffs, then watch him burn out due to the increased workload. Genius!

No comparison, everyone is all-star over there. They are almost in the playoffs already.

Tight hamstrings can cause lower back pain, not a real good sign.

The Rockets need to do something different in their rehab plan with Chris if they hope to get any return on that $140m investment.

Not the same sport, but AFL player Cyril Rioli was plagued with hamstring issues throughout his career, until his trainers completely rebuilt his running style: http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/2011-07-03/riolis-running-revolution

Could this be a way forward with CP3? Shelve him until he learns how to run without injuring himself?

The plan obviously has its risks. But for the Rockets to have a chance to dethrone the Warriors, they need both Harden and CP3 healthy and playing their best ball in May and June. Also, tomorrow’s game is in Denver, the most difficult opposing venue because of the city’s high altitude. It’s not that surprising he would sit out tomorrow, and play Saturday in Utah.
