    If Porz bolts and they can't sign other top players, at least that 2021 pick is interesting.

    Wow. Just wow. The Knicks have been dysfunctional for so long that the excellent Knicks team we battled for our first championship seems like a mirage, like it happened in an alternate Knicks universe, or would if Les didn't have that trophy sitting somewhere in his library in Manhattan.

    I hate Dallas, but that's nothing new.

    Would Klay and or KD want to go there for DSJ lol? You need talent to attract talent.

    Dumb move by Knicks unless they have an inside scoop on Kristaps' leg.

    Edit: the picks make it less bad but they gave good players away to Dallas.

    Maybe they wanna tank for Zion lol.

    This trade really isn’t as bad for the Knicks as everyone is making it out to be.

    They moved big contracts to free up space to add or potentially add two max players.

    They added a good young player in Dennis Smith

    They added two #1 draft picks, one unprotected and one with limited protections.

    For their motivation (clearing salary), I don’t think the Knicks would have done any better making a deal later.

    I make the deal if I am the Mavericks too. They got the best player by far in the deal and he is young with some untapped talent. He can play several spots inside too. However, he is going to demand the max soon enough and is a real injury risk.

    This deal could end up benefitting a team not involved in the trade. DeAndre Jordan and Wes Matthews would be potentially difference makers if they are bought out.

    Crazy trade that actually makes sense for both teams. Knicks are banking on turning Smith Jr. around, getting one of Zion or Barrett in the draft, and landing one or two elite free agents. Wouldn’t shock me if they hold a max salary slot for Davis in 2020, too.

    A core of Knox, Smith, Zion or Barrett and two max free agents is not bad. They basically valued Smith plus another max free agent over giving Porzingis the max this summer.
