Interesting stuff....the only little thing that popped in my head was starting caliber players versus starting caliber players for a championship level team. Clearly there is a big difference between those two. Gordon + picks + whatever certainly gives a better shot at a starting caliber player for a top tier team.
Yeah, i mean, i'm not comparing him to 2018 Carmelo of course, or syaing he's the same exact player, just saying he's a similar player in terms of build and strenghts/weaknesses. And if his cost is high it's not worth it imo, he's also expiring and looking to get paid.
Perhaps. But AG, Ross and Simmons are younger, bouncier and better scorers than either Ariza or LMAM. Combined with Tucker, Rivers and Green they are more athletic and more talented than the role players who helped Harden, Paul and Capela to be up 3-2 against the Warriors. DJ/WCS and Faried are better than the unplayable Ryno and Nene. And Harden and Clint have both taken their games up another level. They were very good last season, approaching unbelievable this season. Only Paul has regressed. But Rockets can now provide 48 minutes of Point Gawd play and 48 minutes of rim protection/lob threat. I believe this is a much better and deeper team than last season.
Not for Milwaukee..... Why on earth would they do that? Like in which universe??? They're winning the East and he is a key part. They're not trading him for a 6'4 whiney volume chucker whose 3 point % has declined every year of the last 5 seasons. EGO simply MUST go for the Rockets to rise again - let's get something of value in return.
The forward positions are our weakest links. If we could add a rebounding starting caliber one, we are contenders again. I like the idea of going after Aaron Gordon the most. Young with potential, he would be worth the future draft picks and fit nicely with Capela. T Harris would fit as well but I doubt the Clips would be willing to deal with us again this soon. Even Love would work but more of a short term fix with a long term contract We should also jump on Wes Matthews if he comes available especially if we have to deal EG to get one of the forwards
Middleton made the Allstar reserve. Value went up. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...n-simmons-nikola-jokic-headline-first-timers/
It was already high for the Bucks. He’s been their second best player for some time now. He’s big, he’s a good scorer, and he’s clutch.
Ha, I know. I’m just pointing out that they still haven’t replaced him. They need a 3/d forward stillllllllllll Bye bye ship.
Yes, a very astute observation. The Bulls really don't have a starting caliber player to offer on a contender like ours. They do have good backup players though, who might be available. Dunn is struggling again, Portis is improving on offense. Lavine is not worth his contract. My guess is that Gordon and Tucker plus a slightly protected 1st rounder and fillers like House are available for an all star i.e Jimmy Butler. Acquiring DJ though seemingly remote, may ease the pain of PJ's loss. It's not going to be easy by any means.
