That's the problem with Harris. Doc barks at him enough for him to be reminded to play defense once in a while, but his nature is to mentally drift off on that end as if it's not his problem. With MDA, I think that would get worse. Don't know if we can deal with Harden/Harris on the floor together, we are already so terrible at defense. Chris Paul is slowly becoming a liability on that end just because everyone he's switched onto is bigger than him, but his effort/smarts/leadership make up for it. We have to be careful, if we acquire someone like Harris for picks, we have to re-sign that person or we are left with no options to improve (Morey doesn't believe in full MLE signings). Also, Harris turned down a 4 year $80m extension from the Clippers. Are we willing to max him out? I don't know if that would be wise. At the same time I think he would be absolutely deadly in our offense.
Who knows. I think Woj said the Wizards have told people they won't take calls on Bradley Beal. You never know though obviously. The bigger issue with any Beal trade is that they can't rebuild. Any deal for Beal needs to bring back win now talent for them.
I like Tobias but on paper he's another Melo, 3/4 with average defense and used to take his shots, let's say...so, i guess i would still take a flyer on him if the price in not high but, the price is probably high so...not sure it's worth it.
Honestly, I have no idea what the Wizards are attempting. I can't understand the combination of: 1) Keeping Brooks. 2) Paying Otto Porter that much money. 3) Appearing to prefer Wall over Beal. 4) Signing Dwight Howard. 5) Signing Austin Rivers. 6) Not starting Otto Porter at PF (incidentally, Brooks' refusal to stick with Durant at PF might have cost OKC a title). 7) Being one of the most expensive teams. 8) Signing Mahinmi to that contract. 9) Be against tanking. 10) Offer star players in trade. I really just don't understand these people. Nothing they do would shock me, and I still wouldn't know which direction they're headed.
If (big if of course) the Wizards are willing to move Beal, for once we might be in a favourable position, cause we have a similar player with a good salary to trade, and we're in the other conference. Gordon also scored like 35 in Washington this season, maybe they fell in love with him lol.
Not only has it sailed, but Ariza doesn't fit the mold at all of what is being described. Green is a 4/5 type that is a good rebounder and maybe a good defender on bigs. Ariza is a 3/4 type that plays on the perimeter.
This will be interesting . . .. mainly the Money Exchange and how it will impact beyond this season When are the Rockets Less than confident Rocket River
This year we are REALLY confident. No guys, like super seriously confident. Jordan Hamilton come on down! @J.R.
Feigen: "The Rockets are really confident they'll make a trade this deadline." Peanut Gallery: "HOW CONFIDENT ARE THEY?" Feigen: "They are SO confident that they enlisted me for this puff piece."
Bobby Portis would be a sneaky good pickup, imo. His minutes have fluctuated behind Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. (currently injured), but he's only 23 and has a nice skillset for 6'11". He's currently shooting a career-high 36% from deep.
I'll go for him despite his poor defense and occasional hot temper. His contract is around 2.5 M and he is a RFA in 2019-20. On rare occasions, he uses his length to block a shot near the basket. The Bulls haven't been able to extend his contract, but they do like his energy and toughness. I doubt if he will come easily, perhaps not at all. It's worth inquiring after him.
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.wash...onsis-wizards-not-trading-john-wall-bradley-/ According to the Wizards owner Wall, Beal and Porter will not be traded. Any fantasies of Beal or Porter coming to Houston are over if he is to be believed.
You have to put them in the same boat as the Timberpuppies. They are irrational and unpredictably stupid.
