Great points. I do think Eric is not completely fit, but part of his offensive struggles is having to play defense against big forwards and rarely even against centers. Ariza was getting old and Luc got injured at the worst possible time, but they were tall and skillful defenders. Ennis tries hard at times, but he is just not up to it. I never expected him to replace Ariza or match the prince's versatility, but he should be better. House is no savior, I admit but he gave some some all round play that has been missing on an already weak defensive team.

Austin should drive the ball relentlessly to the basket and draw fouls or dish it. He needs to overcome his fear of getting injured and shoot the ball. He is definitely capable of giving slightly above average production on both ends. He loses concentration easily and this holds him back from succeeding.


At the end of the day it's all up to the players, but Coach MDA has got to motivate the team and get them ready every night. Why is Harden doing almost everything? I have no problems with Faried though, he is trying his best within his capabilities.I wish Rudy T was coaching the team right now, he would have gotten a lot more out of them, despite his weak X/O's.

I don't think you can showcase player in the G league. Players have put up monster statlines in that league before and can barely get any playing time in the NBA when called up. That stats are inflated as hell over there.

I agree with all that!!!! Great points!! Yes, the length Ariza and Luc brought, as well as their defense, is lacking now. Neither was consistent on offense, but their defense kept us in games. I really wish we would get another big forward, with great defense, who can contribute effectively to our offensive style. I mean a star player, and not just a veteran who is OK. One who consistently puts double digits on the boards. I really like House, and think he can become a great player, but don't think he is enough right now to make the difference in us winning a Championship. I still hope they sign him though. I really hope Morey swings some kind of trade to get us that forward we need or unfortunately, I don't think we really have enough to realistically stand a chance right now in the playoffs. We are just too small, lacking in defense, and cant win consistently against good teams. We will see how it goes these next few games.

 

I have been saying this for years. No doubt Morey is smart. He is a wizard at contract rules of the NBA. But, he has several flaws including that he loves 6'*8" forwards. He is not a basketball guy. Not confident he understands the nuances of the game. Not sure he has a feel for team synergy or chemistry. Stats alone don't tell the whole story about a player or combination of players. Give him this, he got Harden and he got close against maybe the most talented team ever assembled. However, that may well be the end of the story.

I hear that! Yes, it is annoying, and even more frustrating that we've seen them do it too often.

 

He's turning into a Patrick Beverley, with injuries and lack of shooting. We need the 40 million dollar man to come in and take care of business, penetrate, be a defensive beast, and take a big majority of the shots. He simply can't come in and only take 9 shots the entire game when we need him offensively.

People say we played their scrubs, but those so called scrubs made us look like the G-League in the second half. They played great defense, pretty much shutting everyone down in the paint. Didn't seem like scrubs to me. Heck, the only reason we were ahead in the first half was because we were hitting a lot of 3's. Those guys played with more determination, persistence, and energy than we did. They dominated the inside game, and we couldn't stop their drives. They might have had more bench players starting, but playing like that made them look like the professionals, and us just an average team that choked. Very frustrating. If they come out with that kind of game against Denver I really doubt they lose by 40.

 

The Rockets seem to bring out the best in teams. Idk if it’s a blessing or a curse.

 

FYI... Paul George & Giannis will be in the running, still a lot of season left and seeds to be determined.

LOL, could be. This just shows that even the teams well below us in the Western Conference are no joking matter, even with starters out. Kinda scary to think how it is all going to end up by playoffs. Morey needs to work some magic, and get us more help quick. Man oh man what I would give to have Davis on our team though. That would be fun to watch with Anthony, James, Clint and CP3. But, I know it will never happen, so I'm not getting any hopes up whatsoever on that one.

I think Giannis will take it in the end becouse Bucks are going in to the playoffs as team to beat to get to finals. We already know that Rockets cant finish better than 4, 5 IMO. but yes, i still want to see Jimmy holding that trophey.
