Says they are more interested in a bigger player who can help with defense and rebounding while still being able to catch and shoot. Mentions jaymichal green from Memphis. Also says that unlike past years where they’ve shuffled end of bench players, rockets really think they’ll pull off a serious move this year. (paging @J.R. with Hamilton joke!) Also says they aren’t interested in dumping knight contract for luxury tax savings
I'll believe it when I see it. The NBA is notoriously uncooperative when dealing with the Rockets. I'm optimistic by nature, but the NBA has put my default setting considering trades at: "Yeah right, no one is f-cking with the Rockets." J. green would be a perfect addition to the squad.
GO FOR MARC GASOL NOT ANOTHER 6’8 SF like green and faried Need capela insurance for playoffs and reg season OPEN YOUR EYES MOREY
I had mild tachycardia the other day when I saw how much Knight is earning this year. 14.5Ms. 70 Million total mostly from Phoenix ... Pretty crazy. I wish the Rockets would find a dead eye 3 point shooter (or two) 40% or better.
Faried’s production has moved the Rockets far less likely to pursue a center such as the Hawks’ Dewayne Dedmon than they were a few weeks ago. This actually really disappoints me. The Rockets are willing to use their first-round pick to sweeten offers, but after three seasons without a first-round pick, they do not plan to use the pick just to move a contract, two persons with knowledge of the plans said. I wouldn't say this disappoints me, but I'm wary of it. Moving Knight off of our books remains a huge impediment to flexibility.
Jeff Green, Al-Farouq Aminu, Dwyane Dedmon, Robin Lopez, T Prince are the type of players we really need.
From the article: The Rockets, according to those familiar with talks so far, have seemed to be hoping to land a forward that fits as a versatile defender with catch-and-shoot skills, but also would could help with the poor defensive rebounding. That has indicated more of a potential interest in Memphis’ JaMychal Green, one individual familiar with their thinking said, than Garrett Temple (who would otherwise fit well). It would also indicate far less of a chance to chase Courtney Lee or Kent Bazemore, players that don’t fit with the rebuilding Knicks and Hawks and who previously had been thought to be potential Rockets targets.
Marc Gasol can't play in our switching system. He is too slow to pull the switches off and has zero chance of ever staying in front of guards on those inevitable occasions. That is a requirement for any big we pick up and one which Gasol lacks. He'd be terrible on our team. I'm just glad Moreys eyes are open much further than yours and see's that truth.
You need shooters and another person who can create buckets on their own. This is just patches to keep causal fans on board.
