It’s annoying how we play a certain way all game, and start hustling when it’s too late.

This was a horrible game for both teams really.

If you're the Pelicans, why the hell aren't you tanking every game now? Your playoff chances are basically done since you're not playing a bottom tier defense like the Rockets every night, and Anthony Davis basically quit on your team and future. They should just try to increase their odds for Zion and rebuild.

 

Worst loss of the year. I didn't think they'd possibly top the Cavs loss, yet somehow they did it. Literally got beaten by Jahlil Okafor lol. What a joke.

I completely agree with your ranting on these threads man. It's even more annoying because you know this is just gonna be a lost year in the end. I watch every single game, and watching them fritter away the season is just like agonizing slow torture over 5 months. If they came in with last year's mindset, even with all the injuries they'd be 3rd in the West, easy.

 

The Rockets are now seven games out in the West, tied with SA. Two or three more boneheaded games like last night, and they will drop completely out of the playoff picture. The playoffs are likely fool's gold anyway, but it would be nice to at least be in the mix.

What a pathetic loss to a team who were down their best player and two other starters.

MDA talking about the way they started but didn't mention the terrible defensive effort. That's the real problem. They don't play defense

 

i woke up and see a loss, what happened, i thought it's going to be a boring game, the other team is without AD and Mirotic, in a mess situation, i checked box score, looks like we just didn't shoot the ball well, but we are still within 3 points at the end, man how did we consistently lose to lottery teams at HOME, man, i swear if they lose home court, they will look at all of these losses to lottery teams and kicking themselves at their guts

 

Last night the only hyper guy is Kenneth Faried all the others was playing pickup ball especially on defense. It is just a roller coaster ride, hopefully by playoff we are at the up slope. CP3 didn't look for his shots and Austin Rivers look like someone who is lost out there. EGo didn't look to drive much. And there was a play where Rivers quit on pursuing the ball and the Pelicans guy took it from him because he was lackadaisical. They tried despite sleepwalking most of the game on defense. On any given NBA nights you can get beat. Next....

 

If only they gave a damn against inferior teams we'd be right there for the top seed again...

I keep thinking they'll recognize this and return to last year's mindset of needing to win every game, but that isn't happening. Just not the same team.

so instead they should do nothing and act like everything is fine? this mentality is terrible, and obviously coming from someone whose never experienced playing at any sort of level of organized sports. so of course you wouldn't understand it

so why practice then. why put in time on off days to work. these guys just need to show up on game day. no need to touch the ball before or after that. these guys have shot the ball their whole lives.

 

Our coaching is not impressive at all.

 

They got a lead in the first quarter because they were hitting all their 3's, but they were giving the Pelicans anything they wanted on defense. Once the 3's stopped going in, the Pelicans firmly outplayed them the entire game outside of a too late rally in the last two minutes.

 

The team makes same mistake again and again. They always think they can play lazy ball after a win.

 

You can't ask the Pelicans players who are on the floor to actively lose the game. They played 5-6 guys who aren't in their normal rotation.

Rockets just didn't care about the game. That's all it was.
