I recalled @Codman mentioning that as soon as I read your post. Yes, personal issues can have a huge impact on your life away from those issues. I've had some experience with that myself. Perhaps those will subside enough this season to motivate, rather than hurt, his play on the court. We really could use him.
Besides leadership and a veteran presence, Capela still has trouble with bigger centers like Adams and Embiid which Nene can help with.
I'm biased, so it's unfair for me to comment. I'll just mention how important guys like David West have been on contending teams, or remind you of a playoff game against OKC when NeNe dropped something like 28 off the bench. He's humble, and he know's he's not untouchable. So, I guess I just commented Also, Ne doesn't leak anything to me. He'll give me locker room morale stuff, team talks in brief, jokes etc...BUT we're friends first and foremost. Any information I get about the Rockets and/or other teams/players are just Ears in different cities/teams/businesses. I've networked well, but I'm not anything like Cyber, Woj, Shams, etc. Just a guy with ears. XO
Basically a strong veteran presence that can be plugged in when needed to give short spurs of quality backup minutes. Well worth the vet minimum imo.
I agree with a lot of the positive comments. May I add.........he just looks tough, like our Rambo center we can bring in when Clint gets manhandled. We know we can bring in the Brazilian Beast when needed.
Indeed. Nene-Sama will guide Harden to the light. With that said, Nene is highly likeable. He's still a good player if you ask me.
Nene brings the sheriff, enforcer muscle when needed. Our guys will not be pushed around if Nene has anything to do with it. He doesn't need to play every game to earn his paycheck.
Time to Revisit this Can he play more than 10 minutes a game? in more than 5 minute spurts? Rocket River
What's the point of Nene...i don't really know at this point, maybe to have more info by Codman, cause 10 minutes of average basketball once every two games is a bit disappointing, even if understandable since he's 36 and had ton of injuries. To me we should just give Hartenstein some minutes and use these games/minutes to make his development quicker.
I think we've exhausted the Nene gas tank unfortunately. It was a decent run. His veteran presence is still useful, but he should not be playing over Hartenstein. Morey needs a real backup big for Capela. Faried at C may work against teams that don't have a scoring threat at center (see: Toronto), but it's a disaster against teams that do (Pelicans, Magic). Warriors with Cousins is a horrible matchup for us now.
