They will have a sense of who is most easily bought and paid for and then watch Wall Street, the large corporations and the establishment line up to pay up. Of course in 2016 Hillary had her Charitable Foundation to receive those payments. It will be interesting to see what vehicles the Democrat candidates establish to receive the graft payments during this campaign cycle.

Gee... what I read was that the banks were not hoping for Democrat candidates. So they must be comfortable with the easily bought off and paid for current president and admin. They like the current graft.

if you don't think the Democratic party is "veering sharply left," you've either not been paying attention or else you have blinders on.

"Bret Stephens made a pragmatic and utilitarian case in The New York Times over the weekend, in a column about Venezuela: 'All of this used to be obvious enough, but in the age of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez it has to be explained all over again. Why does socialism never work? Because, as Margaret Thatcher explained, "eventually you run out of other people's money."'

"Won't we be more likely to make progress against poverty and disease if we avoid divisively linking those problems to the existence of a few rich people who aren't actually at fault for them? Is it a "moral world" where politicians can motivate millions of voters to blame a country's problem on a handful of wealthy individuals, and to suggest, without evidence, that long-term and intractable problems can be quickly solved if only tax rates were dramatically increased? Is the Democratic fixation with the billionaires (problem) and taxes (solution) much different from the Trump fixation on immigrants and the border wall?"

LOL... your proof that the Democratic party is veering sharply left is an opinion from a right wing blog? And one that mentions AOC as proof? SMH...

I did read it. I laughed. Now tell me that the Democratic party is veering sharply left. You are citing one U.S. senator (who I will admit is too left for my taste)... and your blogs may cite a freshman congressmen that has become the conservatives bulletin board source (and again, two left for my taste). I wouldn't sweat the veering sharply left until its in a policy statement or campaign plank.

You would think with all these supporters of our mistake-in-chief commenting so insightfully on the Dem field of candidates that they could see in their tea leaves that the large number of potential candidates indicates a seriously flawed incumbent.

i think you need to factor in that people will just not vote instead of voting for Trump.

There was a suspension of disbelief going on in 2016, there will not be a hope for the best when it comes to a Trump vote in 20/20.

Can anybody tell me how Trump wins when Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan have flipped?

How does he win those again?

are we gonna need a Howard Schultz thread?

op-ed essay on "The Phony Centrism of Howard Schultz." excerpt:

"Centrism can be defined in one of two ways. Either it's a blending of distinct and seemingly antagonistic ideological views into a synthesis poised between them — or it means staking out an overlapping consensus in public opinion.

"Neither describes Schultz. He's a Democrat who wants Democrats to be less ambitious, to trim their sails, to stop making policy promises premised on raising taxes on people like him.

"That doesn't make him a centrist. It makes him a rich Democrat who opposes his fellow Democrats taking a bigger chunk of his income or wealth."

Its too early... and anyone saying one candidate over another is a clear leader in the race is simply hoping...

If Schultz does actually announce, we will certainly need a Howard Schultz thread. But the Democrat left is in full attack and destroy mode against this guy right now. If he decides to proceed even knowing that he is going to get a milder version of the Donald Trump treatment from the Democrat left press and social media bullies, he may decide to think again. In which case, no thread will be needed.

The Democrat left media and social media lynch mob is proposing a boycott of Starbucks as a result of Howard Schultz statement of intent to run for President as an independent.

Please keep in mind that Shultz is no longer Starbucks CEO and has no direct affiliation with Starbucks. But of course as we have seen too many times and as we all know all too well, the Democrat left lynch mob has no appetite for democracy, freedom of speech, or any kind of human decency or respect.

Angry Democrats call for Starbucks boycott after ex-CEO touts independent presidential run

Angry Democrats call for Starbucks boycott after ex-CEO touts independent presidential run Democrats have ganged up on former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, threatening to make him a “target” and ditch their morning coffee amid fears he can chip away at portions of Democratic with an independent 2020 presidential bid.

The boycott call has been championed by the Center for American Progress, a think-tank founded by Clinton confidant John Podesta. “I will start a Starbucks boycott because I’m not giving a penny that will end up in the election coffers of a guy who will help Trump win,” CAP’s president Neera Tanden tweeted.

It was echoed by Ian Millhiser, columnist at CAP-run ThinkProgress, tweeting that all major progressive groups will weaponize their email lists to promote a Starbucks boycott. The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake chimed in, as well several prominent members of the anti-Trump resistance.

    {More at the link}

And of course this is just the beginning. These people will go after his family, they will fabricate lies and falsehoods that are more despicable than any decent person would ever imagine. The media will make him an open target, and as we have seen with the physical attacks by Antifa and against Senators and White House staff in restaurants and other public places, his physical security will very certainly be a major concern.

The Democrat left media and social media lynch mob are locked and loaded. They are without principle or any kind of human decency and the end justifies the means.

What a bunch of monsters these people have become.

He doesn't have to win all three of those states, and it isn't a static situation. A lot can change in the next 18 months. Further, states like Virginia and Nevada and a couple others are likely going to be in play.

The state that would really hurt Trump to lose is Florida, then he would almost be assured of losing the election.

Kamala Harris is apparently going all the way left.

If you like your health insurance, under her plan, she is saying stating that you cannot keep it. A quote from an interview Harris did with Jake Tapper on CNN:

Harris: Do you like your health insurance? You can’t keep it

TAPPER: Just to follow up on that, correct me if I’m wrong. To reiterate: You support the Medicare for All bill, I think initially co-sponsored by Bernie Sanders, you’re also a co-sponsor.

    HARRIS: Yes.

TAPPER: I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So for people out there who like their insurance — they don’t get to keep it?

HARRIS: Well, listen, the idea is that everyone gets access to medical care. And you don’t have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require. Who of us has not had that situation where you’ve got to wait for approval, and the doctor says, “Well, I don’t know if your insurance company is going to cover this”? Let’s eliminate all of that. Let’s move on.

This will play well among the radical activist left Democrat base that will vote in disproportionately strong numbers in the primaries. But in the general election, and combined with the hate-filled race rhetoric that is sure to be a centerpiece of her campaign, this is going to be regarded as quite radical and extreme.

They are following the Republican blue print from 2016.

We will see candidates go far left to win the nomination and then attempt to steer to the middle for the general election.
