Anthony Davis Requested Trade From Pelicans (Rockets to offer?)

How good is he really? He’s always hurt and can barely lead his team to playoffs when healthy. Injuries are not an excuse just look at what Harden did this year.

I like chris paul perhaps maybe more than anyone on this forum and dont mind his contract...its fan just to have him on the roster... but i think it would be a steal for pelicans and objectively highly regarded move around the league aside from default irrational hate takes as per rockets organization

Be a playoff team in the west? The pelicans can just take the picks the rockets give them and package them for love. Take gordon, tucker and capela and rebuild on the fly.

I think you are confusing where players want to go and where the media wants players to go - they are two entirely different things and it's why LA was snubbed by every other big FA name before Lebron....and let's be honest, Lebron was looking to move his family to LA and retire in the area anyway. That was more about Lebron's needs for his post career and family(specifically his son trying to follow his father's career footsteps) then any sort of Lakers exceptionalism.

Also the whole, "everybody wants to play with Lebron" narrative hasn't been proven yet either. While there is a never ending supply of role players who would love to play with Lebron if their old team buys them out so they aren't sacrificing an actual paycheck, I don't think the list of difference making players who specifically flocked to Lebron in FA is all that significant. The George Hills and Rajon Rondos of the world working on the decline of their careers aren't exactly steals.

This doesn't mean AD won't go to LA, but it means all the smoke you hear about LA is waaaaayyyyy overblown. The fact is the Laker's package is relatively weak considering all the players they could offer aren't particularly exceptional and Lebron's presence on the Lakers means their future draft picks likely won't be lotto picks...also the Lakers don't hold an advantage to sign AD outright because Lebron would be approaching Vince Carter age by the time AD would suit up for them anyway. New Orleans would be better served kicking the tires on getting Fox + picks from Sacramento or just waiting until the offseason to field the Celtics best offer which will likely be shitty because Boston only entertains extremely lopsided trades apparently( they are only going to offer one small asset better than the best offer on the table - they aren't trying to talent match even though they can, quite the opposite).
