Lol, who else are they sending to match CP3’s contract? NO would want nothing to do with CP3’s deal, Idk why people keep talking on here like it could actually be a possibility.

Pretty sure ad wants to play next to harden. Look what he did for faried.

Yeah tires kicked, houston used as leverage, noh tells other teams what the rockets offered but they dont want to trade him to a division rival and let houston build a dynasty. Other teams up their offers slightly, noh considers keeping davis for now to trade him later when his value will only be lower out of desparation then tries to convince davis to stay, noh finally settles for an arguably worse offer than what the rockets offered.

    But isnt the ride fun?

The Rockets would have an astronomical tax situation on their hand.... but it would all be better with our rings. :D

I cant see a situation in which we land Davis. If you look at the major trades involving superstars, its either been a large collection of above average role players or good draft picks + a few guys who the team in the trade feel are on the cusp of taking the next step. Paul George landed Indiana Oladipo and Sabonis, for example, and I just dont see us having anything close to that haul. I think a team like the Celtics has a lot of attractive assets - Rozier, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Morris, etc. + Picks would be a decent haul. The Clippers arent terrible either (Harrell, Williams, Harris, Bradley) + Picks. Same with the Nets (Russell, Dinwiddie, Levert, etc.) + Picks.

If I'm the Pelicans, I hold onto Davis and look to trade him in the offseason or near the trade deadline next season. Not enough time to really evaluate strong deals between now and the deadline, and there's no use in dumping him without having a path for the future really settled.

In my opinion, Davis has a really decent situation with the Pelicans. He is surrounded by a lot of talent, and is not playing in a Lebron w/Cavs or Harden without CP3, Capela, etc. situation. Holiday, Randle, Moore, and Mirotic make for a really good supporting cast. They should be better than they are right now, but thats partly due to a really competitive West and partly them underperforming.

Tbf OIadipo and Sabonis when they got traded they were not considered a good package, everyone was laughing at Pritchard for gifting George to Presti. Oladipo was getting paid 21M per season and he was a mediocre player, in fact he was considered a bad contract. Sabonis was just another young big man with some potential like Zach Collins.

Davis and his agent are doing a terrible thing to New Orleans. It's bad enough that Utah stole the rightful name of their team and won't give it back. Now Davis, their coveted superstar with 2 seasons left on his contract, is demanding a trade? At least he hasn't pulled a Leonard. Not yet. Doesn't seem like the type. (Is there a type?)

As an aside, I saw a video somewhere of Harden and Davis laughing uproariously together, maybe before the teams started to warm up for the last game against the Pelicans. Anyone else catch that? Just a meaningless tidbit. No way we'll get the guy. Maybe we can score something by helping to facilitate a deal. I don't doubt that Morey is busy speed dialing people.

as if htey're going to trade him straight up. if I were NO, AD is a good enough to position themselves to get ZION.

To be totally honest capela is the best bet they’ll get replacing the C position. Capela has a lot of value. Davis is obviously more skilled but capela is still young and is a top 5 C

I don’t think it’s out of question we could land Davis

No, it would be Clint and all the Rockets draft capital (3 #1's) and likely Gordon as well.

It is a fair offer, the best the Rockets can offer, and it will eventually be bettered by NY, DEN, LAL, LAC or BOS.

Lakers are greedy. They won’t offer much.
Tax is not very high after unloading knight contract.
If they add Solomon hill in the package, that will be very high.
