Bleacher Report reporter Ken Berger reported that one other team executive revealed that Bulls were willing to accept any chips in order to trade Jabbari Parker. Judging from the current situation, Jabari Parker may be bought out.

When Bulls signed Jabbari Parker last summer, it was certainly not the result they had imagined. Parker dropped out of the team rotation in mid-December and sat on the bench for a long time afterwards. Recently, he has regained his chance to play. However, his playing time is still uncertain.

Obviously, Bulls want to trade Parker out. In his article, Ken Berger wrote that one of the other team executives said, "They are willing to accept any chips in order to trade him away. It's going to be an expiring contract, but how many teams will have a total expiring contract of $20 million? Not much. I think they'll buy him out."

Parker has averaged 14.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists so far this season. Although the data looks good, his offensive tactics are mostly focused on inefficient two-point goals, and his defensive ability is inadequate. As the executive said, it's almost impossible to trade Parker at the moment.

Bulls had previously signed a $20 million contract with Parker for one year and a $20 million contract with team options for the next year. Parker's contract is about to expire. Given his current situation, how could a team match such a big salary to bring him in?

Parker didn't shoot well enough, he couldn't create opportunities for his teammates, and his defensive skills were limited. Basically, his current situation is similar to Anthony's. Bulls may eventually have to buy Parker, and if so, considering that he's only 23 years old and is the top performer of the year, there should be other teams to take him over.

Maybe this is the best time for us to clean up Knight + Chris?o_O

Why would Houston trade for a player that can’t shoot? Oh wait.... I rather use whatever it will cost to buy him out on House but seems like the House ship has sailed. I also rather have Knight on the roster over Parker bc Knight can altleast shoot and is an underrated defender.

Is Chriss considered a "chip" in this universe? We also have a knight and an ennis.

He's basically an expiring contract with a team option next year. Would definitely trade for a guy of his calibre for Knight + Chriss + FRP without any hesitation.

I guess that makes sense. We're giving up a late first round pick to be able to come off Brandan Knight's salary next year and to potentially have Jabari as a scorer off the bench for the remainder of the season. Not the worst idea. Still, I'd hate to give up a first round pick for that.

I think he’s bought out before they take Knight and his extra year. But that FRP may be enough.

I thought they would consider acquiring him via trade—obviously that didn’t make sense. If he’s waived he’d definitely prefer the Rockets to any other team due to their needs and playoff potential. He can’t play defense but he can certainly score and we need playmakers. I’d love the pickup. He offers more than Austin Rivers. He’s only a decent 3 point shooter but can create off the dribble and rebound.

Doesn't want to play defense. Also, two major injuries limited him to 45 games per season in his first 4 years.

Yeah, not reeeeeeeally the kind of guy we need right now.

    Hard pass.

The benefit of acquiring him via trade is to have the flexibility to keep him beyond this year if he plays well, and get Knight's contract off the book. Morey has already said he's willing to trade the FRP when the opportunity presents itself.

Well buy him out then. His offense is cool. But can he play defense in a switching system? Maybe. Who else is getting bought out tho? We still need shooting.

The Bulls are desperate. Thee is no need to give a FRP pick to them. He is like fool's gold. Non existent defense and a poor attitude is not needed.
