No. He is terrible on defense and bad fit for the Rockets on offense.

Frye doesn't play D either. Frye is stretch 5 just like Speights, same role.

"Much" is relative depending on role and usage. We need more Defense anyway, so neither fit the real need a true 3-D SF/PF.

Rockets don't need stretch 5. All they need now is 6'8" - 6'9" SF-PF 3-D wing with big wingspan and quick legs. Players like that cost a lot. But Rockets need to spend assets if they want to have good chances in playoffs.

Also, he’s not good enough for the Clippers to keep when they’re trying to make a playoff push, but he’ll take us over the top.

    Yes, I mentioned that.

Stretch 5 like Frye or Speights is a luxury.

4 of 15 rosters spots it's centers already (Capela, Nene, Faried and Hartenstein). Maybe even 5 of 15 (I think Chriss played center in Rockets). It's not very smart to spend another roster spot for another center when the team needs wings so much.

Read the posts again. I was not advocating acquisition of stretch 5, only suggesting a cheaper option for discussion purposes only.

However, do not count on retaining all those 5's after buyout and trade deadline.

Agreed that our forward rotation could be shored up a bit

Jeff Green, Ariza, Rodney Hood, Taurean Prince, Deandre Bembry, Kelly Oubre and James Johnson would all be welcome additions

Prince is the guy I’d target - great length, can really D up, can shoot the three and create off the dribble, and is on a rookie deal for 2 years and then will be a RFA. There are reports he’s on the trading block too

Chriss + 1st (or House and 2 2nds if ATL is big on him) should get it done imo

we just need a long forward, I dont think Harden is going to play that role for whoever put him as our starting 3.

I think Parker could help us with scoring off the bench. But that contract might scare Morey away.

That’s what they said when they signed Melo, help us with scoring off the bench. :D Parker and Melo is basically similar player. Bad defense with some good offense. Don’t want the nightmare again.

Did Bull's waive Carmelo Anthony? If so he might be a great buy out target.
