If you mean @paulftsk and his exorbitant meal stories you might be on to something there.

I feel you. I want Harden to break scoring records, but I also want the Rockets to win.

Houston can compromise. Play CP3 a max of 28 mins a game, and have him sit out some games completely. CP3 works on getting his feet back under him while helping create, and mainly used as a back-up point guard. In the playoffs he will have the rust knocked off, and can go berserk. Harden can decrease his workload but still shoot 25 times a game with max efficiency. Rockets go on a great run to finish the season. That's ideal.

What is going to happen is that CP3 will play 25 minutes the first game, but then go straight back into 36 minute games for the rest of the season, be thrown into a gauntlet instead of slowly brought back, and over extend himself trying to not get in Harden's way. Harden will still average 30, but at the expense of the offense looking more clunkier than usual. Gordon and Rivers will have no idea what to do, and the Rockets finish as the 7th seed with a bunch of dumb losses and a team that just looks like it was assembled on the fly.

Would rather a chip than just a historical performance by Harden. Plus, when CP3 and Capela come back, the Rockets are going to need time to re-adjust to each other again. I don't expect it'll take much time, but I do expect the offense to be a bit more evenly distributed than it currently is right now. The Rockets NEED Harden to play like he is right now just to win.

What amazes me is that the Rockets could potentially have had an even better record than they currently have with wins against the Nets, Mavericks and Heat games. Those very winnable losses sting as it'd put the Rockets at 30-17, only 4 games behind the Bucks (to strengthen Harden's MVP case) and a narrow #3 seed in the WC.

Then if Paul and Capela can remain healthy the rest of the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 15+ game win streak when at full strength again to finish the season. There's 35 games. Only one more remaining until CP3 returns. If Capela is gone 4 weeks, that's 8 winnable games in his absence. The Rockets would have their remaining 27 games at full strength. Enough time to go on a comparable run as the 50-5 record the trio had last year. 25-2 run isn't entirely out of the question. 55 win season wouldn't be out of the question.

The toughest games ahead when at full strength would be against the Warriors, Celtics, Sixers and Raptors, and all those are winnable especially at full strength.

    CP3
    Harden
    EG
    Tucker
    Capela

    Bench:

    Rivers
    Green
    Ennis/Clark
    Faried
    Nene

The backcourt would be vulnerable to a drumming against centers like Embiid but that's where Capela would come in against another starter. At full strength, I think the Rockets are the best chance at beating the Warriors. We're the NBA's best shot.

We need him just need him completely healthy. Even last night barely beat the sorry arse Knicks and James had to score 61 or they would have lost. They need CP3 and Capela

Oh I’m sorry did we beat GSW when it mattered?. Oh yeah we didn’t.

I’m not doubting Hardens greatness and I’m hoping he’s finally at the maturity and confidence level to play well in playoffs but it’s no hidden truth HArden played below his ability in that series. Obviously he’s a huge reason why we did well he’s still a superstar and putting in his fair amount of buckets but he’s gone missing when really needed in almost all important playoff games

Not sure about the hiding thing, but sure, CP3 was killing them until he got hurt. ****ers knew we were done as soon as CP3 got injured. Damn, Damn...

We need him back but I don’t want to risk it. If they say he can come back tomorrow or some other date I’d add a week to whatever they say.

I rather wait, make sure he 110% healthy. I don't wanna deal with his injuries for the next 3 years.

What Harden is doing is amazing but nah I want CP back as soon as he's able. The only reason I'd want CP to sit more is so that he can get to 120% health. Other than that, nah bring him back. Harden needs the help and rest.

I'll always take the team and a ring over personal accolades.

And if Harden beats the 81pts and 37ppg, what's the first thing those Kobe and MJ fans are going to say?

    "ZERO RINGS!"

This thread is dumb. Harden currently has a 41% usage rate and leads the league in minutes. How are u not able to look at the bigger picture? What Harden is doing is amazing, but if u ask him to do this for the rest of the regular season, he’ll average 36-37 ppg for the regular season and have nothing left for the postseason.

then you’ll be the same dude on here talking about “he chokes” or “trade him”

come on now. We need CP3 back ASAP. Harden is singlehandedly carrying this team and he needs help. When CP3 comes back, I hope it is the CP3 from Last Season coming back, not the one from earlier this season. Go Rockets

It says a lot about how invested Rockets fans are into the regular season. All that matters is the Playoffs, and the fact that you guys care more about Harden breaking meaningless RS records instead of getting rest with CP back is alarming...
