Gonna be pretty one sided considering it's a rockets message board.

    Giannis

Harden wouldn't win over him if the season ended today

Bucks are 1st in the East
Giannis is shooting 58% from the field, averaging 27.5, 12.5, 6

Rockets are 5th in West, 2 games from being out of the playoffs
Harden is shooting 44%, offset by high FT's and three's
But team injuries have hurt him

.. then again, who knows what the award means nowdays
Westbrook won it for pointless stats on a terrible team
Harden should have 3 MVP's in a row but will likely only get 1 because his story doesn't sell as much

When its all said and done - I truly believe Harden wins. He's driving media dollars now.

He needed to do it on Broadway to get the All-Star votes up... Now he'll do it in Hollywood to seal the MVP vote... Media driven!

If the Rockets finish top 4 in the tough west this year it’d be hard to deny Harden with his otherworldly stats. The Freak can wait till next year.

Harden should win it. But it's all about the narratives nowadays. The votes go to the player that catches fire on social media. Harden gets a lot of hate online, and also some love. Despite being in first place, Giannis still tends to fly under the radar.

Going by traditional qualfications, Giannis as an edge over Harden. BUT, given the fact that Harden got robbed in 2017, he should win this one.

What Harden is doing may not always be pretty, but it is spectacular! At this point, even if Harden did not play another game this season, I would think he should win the MVP. I will be surprised, and a little disappointed if he is not a unanimous MVP.

I vote for Russ because he is averaging a triple double.

As much as I want to say Harden, I think it’s Giannis so far. Tremendous team improvement, tremendous production, no all-star caliber teammates.

The Rockets would need to win at least 50 for Harden to have a realistic shot. With 35 games left, that means going 23-12 the rest of the way.

The Bucks are 10x more stacked than the Rockets. There is no debating that.

The Bucks sans Giannis would beat the Rockets sans Harden.

I say Giannis as well, but whoa whoa whoa...

    1) Eric Bledsoe is top 15 in ESPN's RPM
    2) Khris Middleton and Bledsoe are both top 40 in ORPM (no Rocket outside of Harden makes the list lol)
    3) Both Bledsoe and Middleton are potential all-stars in the East, either would be the Rockets 2nd best player right now

I also think the team improvement is largely because of the coach changing the system.

I still reward Giannis, but I think there is a really tight margin there. Everything will depend on where the two teams end up in their conferences and what Harden is doing to end the year.

It'll be so hard for Harden to win.

He has to continue this pace just for people to say "either him or either Giannis." Meaning, Harden can't really have an off-game here nor there, even after the entire team gets healthy.

the media barely even talks about Giannis...Harden is dominating the headlines and doing stuff we haven’t seen since MJ or Wilt

they already showed that u don’t need to come close to having 1 of the best records in the NBA if you’re doing something truly historic and your team still makes the playoffs

with the way that Giannis is hardly ever mentioned, I would consider it an upset if the vote happened right now and he won
