49 percent from the field and 38 percent from three is good..............maybe people think he doesn't because he doesn't get and take a lot of shots
Why trade two first when House was showing he can be that guy? He showed he can give starter quality minutes, he fits the role of the type of player we need perfectly as well as a 6'7 220 athletic big who can guard 2-4 and bang 3's. Are you sure he's better than someone who we can trade for? If we have to dump Knight to match salaries, that becomes debatable to me. Think about how much better of a situation we'd be in next season to trade for a star with Knight's 16 mill expiring contract, 4 future 1st and the rights to a drafted 1st round rookie.
House is not worth two, or even one first round pick, so I'm assuming whoever we can get for that is better. Next year Cp3 is a year older and who knows what else is going on. Harden is on a historic run NOW. We can't waste that and wait for next year. That was the rationale for those who wanted to bring House back for the rest of the season even if it meant losing him in the summer, because it made this year's team better. Well, what makes this year's team even better than that is going all in on a wing that would've made House expendable anyways.
This is a BS argument. We need House AND another rotation-quality wing. We needed 2 before House. We need 2 now. It's not either or. The cheapskates have taken control of the narrative.
Why do you need House and another rotation quality wing? We have Harden/Gordon/Rotation Quality Wing/Green still need House? That's like 5 guys on 2 positions? And that's not even counting Ennis who is decent at 10 minutes per game. Because clearly we needed a wing to stop Embiid from wrecking the team. The hype for House has jumped over the shark it's getting ridiculous with some posters claiming we don't even need to trade for an SF, just pay House wtf. Newsflash he ain't this good! If we can get a Bazemore or Otto Porter then we don't need Danuel freaking House! He would be a luxury not a necessity!
Austin Rivers and whoever we trade for with picks is the two rotation wings we lost after Ariza and Luc. Cheapskate? It's not my money so what do I care. Just looking at it from a logical point of view. It's not your money either so of course easy to be so generous.
Because Green and Ennis should not be playing in a series against the Warriors. House is significantly better than them. Gordon is a 6'4 guard. We also like to have wings at the 4 often and have been very successful with that against the Warriors. I'm not going to get into whether House is good or not. I'm just going by MDA giving more minutes to House when Green and Ennis were healthy. I wasn't calling you a cheapskate, I meant to refer to Tilman. Austin Rivers and Eric Gordon are not suitable wings to play the Warriors. We need length. I can't believe you're overlooking that. It's the NBA in 2019, you need length. People didn't forget that they can use 6'3-6'4 guys on the wing. It's just not as effective. We need more to beat the Warriors, to disrupt them, to deflect, play suffocating defense. It's not a coincidence that the best defenses have multiple players with great length. It's not a coincidence that 6'3-6'4 guys who can play defense and shoot are cheaper than those who are taller. Rivers and Gordon are undersized for all positions except PG, and they partially make it up with skill. We can't half-ass it into a Warriors series with Harden's prime at stake just because people are pissed at House. We need: Capela/Nene/Faried Tucker/Wing X/Clark Wing X/House/Ennis Harden/Gordon Paul/Rivers That's a contender to the Warriors. That's the quality you need for MDA to play 8, to absorb injuries, to endure fatigue and to have tactical options.
Make no mistake: If Morey lands a quality wing in trade, without losing a player of value, he will have to package a FRP. Morey is going to then replace that FRP trade asset by buying another trade asset with this year’s remaining MLE, and that is House, as buyout candidates typically won’t sign multiple years and usually bolt in the summer (see Josh Smith). A quality wing in trade loses us a FRP, and Morey can spend MLE (on House) to effectively replace that lost future asset. And still have enough MLE for a buyout. Surely, Morey hopes to use the MLE on both a usuable buyout and House, but all things remaining equal in terms of usability this year, Morey will favor investing the MLE in a multi year contract to double as (1) help now and (2) future trade asset, over burning the MLE on solely a remainder of the year contract...unless some substantially better buyout drops into our laps, who ALSO demands all of the MLE...unlikely. Why has the narrative turned so heavily against the player that y’all have stopped trying to think like Morey, or even care to? bottomline: Morey will have $0 of MLE left after this is over, and hopefully Knight got packaged with a FRP, and the MLE partially recoups the trade value of the FRP lost, by locking in House for future trades.
i have watched every game this season. He has one bad shooting game against Philly and people go after him(not surprised with this place, some fans want perfection here).....scored 18 against the Lakers on 6-9 shooting and 4-6 from three. He is there for his defence, not offence
"Last few"? He just shot 4-6 from 3 in our second to last game. And everyone has bad stretches, anyway. His numbers for the season simply do not back up the claim that he's shoot well. It's just a statistical fact. ... That said, I think we can do a lot better (such as Danuel House), but if he keeps shooting the way he has been, we're doing very well.
We're not quite in cap hell, but we're very close. Purgatory, maybe. The point is that as much as we want/need House + a wing, we have very little room and basically no trade assets to offer. Morey is going to have to get creative. Missing on Knight, Chriss, MCW, Melo, and Ennis III gives him no room for error.
Pretty surprised no one caught this yet. Instagram is a gold mine. Right after the KP trade to Dallas, AND Matthews & DJ speculated to be "bought out"......House posts THIS on instagram. "broken heart" -- Did he get told that the MLE dollars are going somewhere else? cc @heypartner @Clutch @The Cat
Sucks man. They use money to sign someone they can’t even resign next season that doesn’t move the needle, ala Wes Matthews
Just to be CLEAR.....I am only speculating because of the time and circumstances. We'll have to see what happens. But the TIMING was curious to me.
Exactly. House can benefit us much more than aMathews. Mathews hasnt recovered from his torn Achilles Injury. He’s not a 3 and D specialist he was for Portland and never will be. He just can’t chase player around the court anymore.
Maybe he just wanted to show off the broken heart cut into his haircut. Like, "hey, look at my broken heart head". Unless he went and carved it in there real quick...
