I've had 2-3 packages expected on a certain day, and then get an email that it will be delayed by an additional 1 or 2 days......never happened when Amazon used UPS/FedEx
I think they prioritize office deliveries because of the hours. I do the same...but my office is at home so I either get it at 7:59 pm the day it's due by 8 pm or it's delayed. Doesn't seem to matter if it's Amazon, USPS, UPS or FedEx.
Definitely. Just go online and use their chat feature to complain. Normally get something. I've gotten a credit for a month of Prime, I've gotten $5 credits, etc.
Amazon has never failed me at my new place (knocks on wood). USPS on the other hand can suck it. - Bought a baby crib from target online - Will be delivered by USPS - USPS doesn't deliver crib - Reason: Doesn't fit in mailbox. (Well no ****ing ****. ) - USPS loses crib.
USPS Typically shows delivered then delivers it next day. AMZL on the other hand, consistently shows a picture of my package on another doorstep. Yes, you can turn the screws for a $5 credit, a free month of prime AND expedited shipping on a replacement if that's an option. Just a PITA.
Occasionally if I personally change the address, it still gets delivered to the first address. But otherwise a seemingly perfect record. I know exactly where everything is and it gets delivered on time. I do think it's cheap that they do the pantry thing, because users found the loophole, but I understand the business rationale.
I ordered a mattress on Prime on Monday with expected Prime delivery to my in-laws by Friday so we'd have a bed for the weekend when we visited. I get an e-mail on Friday that our item just shipped and will arrive by Monday, after we've stayed the weekend. I was pissed to put it lightly. I chatted online with Amazon India and all they could offer me was $10 credit. Yeah, that's not gonna cut it. I had to call in to a USA center and they offered $50 credit. I didn't take it. I called again to a USA center and the supervisor was the first one to actually apologize for a mattress delivery delay. It's kind of an important furniture piece. She offered me a $100 credit which I was satisfied with. But I still needed a mattress. I picked up the same mattress from a B&M Mattress Firm, then canceled my Amazon order and still received the credit. Moral of the story is Amazon India is barely capable of helping. Call and speak to an American customer service person for real help.
Back when the prices were the lowest, true 2 day delivery by UPS/FedEx, it was great. When they switched to USPS, it has dropped off. Now my orders frequently take 1 extra day before they ship. Its nice with their own delivery you can actually track the driver. If I really need something in a timely manner, ill go to a brick and mortar than risk it being delayed.
I’ve never had an issue with it and order on average 2 packages a week. I even had someone misplace my package at my office and Amazon replaced it before someone gave it to me. It was about 5 days before they handed me the package and it was about $50 worth of stuff. Of course I didn’t return it due to the hassle.
Unless you really like their online content, I'd skip it. I buy off Amazon all the time and as long as I buy a certain amount, which is pretty minimal, my shipping is free also, though I do have to wait a week typically.
