Most were killed off by disease, so "we" didn't kill most of them off, natural selection did. As to the 10% of the native population not killed off by disease, they didn't have the means to hold on to the land they wanted to claim as theirs so they lost it. That's the history of the world, even the history of native tribes in America before anyone else got here. Those that fought to try and keep the land were slaughtered, those that didn't were pushed off their land.....much like native tribes would have done to neighboring tribes that were not capable of holding on to their land or the history of any other people across time. It's unfortunate that the "natives" did nothing to better secure the land that they wanted to claim as theirs, but nothing different happened to them than happened to untold millions of different groups throughout history. Nothing made this land inherently theirs, nothing makes this land now inherently belong to the US. You can only claim land that you are capable of defending.
I dont know. If your asking whether i want to live in 21st century America or 16th century Indian territory, I'd take America. If we are talking 16th century Indian territory or 16th century america it's more of a toss up. Where aid really like to live is the nicest home in River Oaks. But just because I have a large enough supply of guns amd might be able to go take it from the owners eho live there now does not mean that I believe doing so is in any way justified. The crux of your argument as I seem to be able to distill it is "because we could take it we were morally justified in taking it". That kind of moral darwinism is straight out of the Nazi playbook.
This is why the charge is "racism" is losing or has lost its meaning, and effectiveness: overuse, and in situations where it actually is not occurring. And I've lost count of how many times the word is used in the above paragraph.
You're missing the context of the conversation. Your pal there has spent the entire thread calling others racist. Take issue with him, not me, I've called no one racist in this thread.
21st century native american territory would effectively be the same as 16th century native american territory, which was effectively the same as 10th century native american territory, which was effectively the same as 4th century native american territory. The native population of North America (north of the Rio Grande) never advanced beyond the stone age for the most part though I know people don't like using those terms anymore. You could find some cold hammered copper, but for the most part natives in the north never advanced to learning how to forge metal. There are reasons for why their technological advancement was so stunted, but there's no reason to believe that they'd have ever advanced if not for outside interference....and any outside interference would have likely led to the vast majority dying off from disease just the same as happened.
Even worse, in this instance accusations of racism are meant to deflect from 2 groups who were actually being racist in order to demonize those who weren't being racist. There's just no way you can take those kinds of people seriously after situations like this.
Wow, I see you still have not watched the video that shows everything. You would rather cling to the fake news narrative. It is impossible to have a conversation about this if you choose to ignore the facts of this situation.
I have seen every video posted on this site. Every video. The students did exactly what I posted. Even someone from the other group said the students were taunting Mr. Phillips. I don't know why you continue to deny it. Also don't care whether you choose to discuss it with me or not. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...deo-shows-viral-protest-new-light/2635085002/
Most of us raise our children to not grow into agitating 60-year olds who think yelling and banging a drum in a 16 year olds face is appropriate. But what would we know?
That's a shockingly honest admission by Joy Behar good for her for at least being honest about it, I wish some of our friends on the left here would be that honest with themselves and with the rest of us.
Those kids mocked that Native America - they stood there and did mock war cries - there is no excuse for that, and now it turns out the Priest that runs the school was there watching and videoing the event. Religion sucks, and religious schools suck too - brainwashing people with mythology. DD
