What would be wrong with a person who does? Not sure why it even matters. I say I don't, you say I do. You are welcome to think that man.
What would be wrong with you constantly shifting goal posts like a snake and never standing by your previous statements? Don't tell me you never go around defending Trump and then get called out and then ask what's wrong with defending him.
“Even If He Did Do It, It Wouldn’t Be a Crime”: Rudy Giuliani on President Trump. giuliani also states he is not an "ethicist", but a criminal lawyer.
I don't support him, what else can I say? If you feel that way, that is your opinion. I have nothing to prove.
You constantly defending Trump in your time in the D&D is self evident. That is what you are back tracking from. The good ol Bush Jr routine .
It is truly sad that some people still either refuse to watch the video evidence that completely refutes the fake news racist narrative or worse they have watched it and still see these kids being racist simply due to a hat and white skin color. How can there ever be any realistic discussions when one group readily believes and tries to push false narratives. It is impossible to reason with intentional ignorant people.
I haven’t followed this history you are referencing, but is it not possible that he doesn’t like or support Trump while he also doesn’t think all criticisms of Trump are fair?
Curious, after seeing "all the video evidence" did the students from Covington act disrespectfully towards Mr. Phillips? Did they laugh at him, mock him, chant, taunt him with "tomahawk chops"? Would this thing have been diffused with simple apologies and the awareness that people can be different and respected (all parties involved)? If your children attending a school that disrespected someone else (from a group of your choosing), would you have been disappointed in them?
Funny, I remember when people criticized a certain former President for adding to divisiveness for injecting himself in a controversial news event...
High school boys. End of story. Stop acting like some of the boys having a silly time is a big deal. I doubt they said anything bad to the poor poor activist. They didn't even know what was happening and thought it was all fun and games. They tomahawked for sure. So what? That is maybe all they knew and didn't know other dance moves.
Well, boys have to grow up some time, too. Sure, they don’t deserve to be harassed, but just dismissing it as “not a big deal” isn’t exactly productive either. They were treating a peace march as a sporting event, right in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Maybe there’s something here they can actually learn from.
OK, so they were disrespectful. It really is as simple as that. And while he would now like to excuse this as "high school boys being boys", "having a silly time" and "all fun and games" and maybe "all the dance moves they knew", you are simply excusing their disrespectful behavior towards Mr. Phillips. It's really a shame they represented a Catholic school at the Lincoln Memorial, and that the so-called responsible adults didn't stop it (after all, the same students were having problems with other people there earlier). Its also a shame the chaperones didn't defuse the situation by having the students apologize to Mr. Phillips. That would have made this multi-day controversy go away before it became an news item. Might have even created a good news story... people learning more about how to interact and that differences are not what people should focus on. Instead, we have people feeling threatened, people hiring political PR firms to craft statements, the school feeling it necessary to close for the day, and now the president of the United States politicizing it in his war on the media. No... the students don't need to have been expelled, or suspected, or otherwise punished. Instead, there was and still is a learning opportunity... one that could help reduce the divisiveness reflected in this argument.
No it really isn't as simple as that. how about Mr. Phillips's disrespectful behavior towards the students and their Catholicism? He's the one who drew first blood by marching up to them and being in their collective grill. Be careful here NewRoxFan, these arguments may simply be excusing his disrespectful behavior toward the youth.
Those Boys just being boys were at a politically charged event, and representing a political figure in Donald Trump who later backed them up on Twitter. Innocence of youth or not, they are now placed into a major racially charge political firestorm with this current MAGA white nationalist movement. And yes... it is a white nationalist movement even if some on Trumps base don't think MAGA means that TO THEM. The core of this political & cultural movement is about racial grievance & overall retreat from global responsibilities. The very first speech Trump gave when he announced his campaign was when he called Mexicans Rapists. Whether you support MAGA or not, doesn't matter. What does matter is the truth that MAGA is a representation of a culturally and politically polarizing controversial movement that is offensive to some. That's just a fact. So... the whole "Kids will be Kids" excuse to me is falling flat given the way they've been used by Trump, and the Right wing media to weaponize for political gain. The chaperones allowed these children to represent this political movement in a big public way which is inappropriate IMO. My 2 cents based on my experience & relation to this event: My wife is a high school theater director, and every year, we go to NY with a select group of kids that sign up for a trip to Broadway, and NYC. I would NEVER.... NEVER in that situation allow these high schoolers to go to Trump Tower in Midtown holding signs protesting .... lets say... Trumps ban of Transgender Troops. I find it highly inappropriate, as a chaperone, to allow this type of politically charged behavior in public while representing a group or school. So whoever instigated what is separate from the core argument which is why the hell were these children in this situation in the first place, and why weren't the chaperones actually chaperoning to avoid their school or organization being represented in a way that could be deemed as inappropriate.
We had @RocketsLegend in here defending black face earlier I couldn’t ****ing believe it. This is who we’re dealing with
This is one of those moments where our friends on the left go too far and they can't walk it back. When you support 2 racist groups including a literal hate group attacking a group of children with racist and homophobic slurs and rhetoric, you are effectively sub-human. When you see that 2 groups of adults have attacked a group of children with racist and homophobic slurs and rhetoric and you blame the children and seek to attack them yourself due to the color of their skin or the hats they were wearing you are sub-human. There's really nothing else to debate or discuss so this thread might as well be closed.
