Again learn something from this incident and don't jump to conclusion. There could've been thousands of reason why everyone in that stadium wore black but your side will always assume the worse. And the article you posted literally said it became an association with white power in 2016 so the tweet is a lie.
That's not what the article said - you clearly didn't read it. Not surprised. And there is no reason to wear black face at all. None. Zero. Don't be stupid.
When your school is 98% white, you should have the self-awareness to not do the blackface thing even if you paint the rest of your body black and wear black clothes and has plausible deniability for racism. Even if the kids don't (and I doubt that they don't), the adults at the school sure should have. We've seen this modus operandi from the Alt Right repeatedly: Do something racist that has a barely plausible non-racist explanation, then cry foul when people point out what they do (OMG, it's just a joke, man!). Trump does it and so do his fans.
Here's Nathan Phillips flat out lying about the whole ordeal. Video evidence proved that none of this actually happened He further lies by saying "There was that moment when I realized I've put myself between beast and prey,These young men were beastly and these old black individuals was their prey, and I stood in between them and so they needed their pounds of flesh and they were looking at me for that." It's time to acknowledge that this guy is nothing but a total and complete POS who took the side of a known hate group who was spewing racist and homophobic hate at a group of kids who did nothing wrong and were just waiting tor their ride. Anyone who is still defending this fake news at this point is pretty much a bad person. It's not your fault for being initially duped by CNN when they report fake news, but if you keep parroting it well after it's debunked, it becomes your fault.
At the risk of being smeared as a racist, or apologist for Covington Catholic, or all-around bad guy . . . in light of the inaccurate and incomplete and misleading reporting on this incident thus far, i.e., from its very beginning to right now at this moment--how confident are we in Bjorn Again Borg as a news source? and how confident are we that this photo is a genuine, unretouched original, given that a google image search doesn't seem to turn it up elsewhere? (I'll allow that the tweet to photo conversion might have something to do with that.) Especially when we live in a time when people are complaining about "weaponized photoshop" to create celebrity nudes and other fakes? @Carl Herrera ? https://www.washingtonpost.com/tech...y-is-potential-target/?utm_term=.711b50d1feb9 Again, this is a sincere question, and I'm not trying to race-bait anyone or call anyone's sincerity or motivations into question. It just seems to me that the story so far has been one of jumping to quick and/or unfounded conclusions. I am asking this question in good faith.
Lets do Carl's timeline so far. Pushes false narrative to ruin kid's life. Doesn't apologize when proven to be wrong (most others have). Instead, he digs up a 4 year old video to further accuse the school a racism I guess in a pathetic attempt at 'false but accurate'. NO idea the history behind said video, but does anyone actually believe Carl? why would you? Also Carl you were suppose to learn something from your mistake. The mature response to falsely accusing someone of racism is not to try and dig up dirt on them Carl.
I had no idea this was a thing. I've never heard of a "blackout" game. Learn something new every day. https://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/05/sports/ncaafootball/05blackout.html
while two other clowns are arguing, the supposedly racist kid actually tries to get them to settle down out of respect for the old man banging a drum and chanting in his face
I can totally see a handful of kids who don't interact much with black people and don't know much about the history of racism doing this and not even thinking about it as a racial thing.
What was the exchange that preceded that guy's comment about white people going back to Europe? I can't make out what the conversation was.
I've watched it. The Native Americans did nothing wrong in either words nor action. The main MAGA kid didn't really do anything wrong either. The other kids mocking the Native American who was there singing a Native American song peace and harmony did a great thing in diffusing the situation between the Hebrews group and the MAGA kids. In the video you mentioned watching, the Hebrews group who had been making fun of Phillips were talking about how he calmed things down. Phillips did a good thing.
Sounds like you haven't actually watched the whole video. That isn't what happened at all. Phillips did a good job of peacefully diffusing a potentially bad situation. There is nothing wrong with a Native American telling students were mocking them to go back to Europe. That is especially true when they are wearing MAGA gear. Their idea of making America great again doesn't involve actually keeping the word the European Americans gave to the Native Americans are returning any of the stolen lands.
Really? So when they were yelling racist rhetoric at the kids that's not something you consider wrong? That's an interesting admission from you. Phillips didn't calm anything down because it was only the black racist hate group that was worked up in the first place. The kids were just waiting for their ride home. On top of that, Phillips proved he was a lying piece of **** in interviews after the fact.
Well now that you've admitted that you support racism I don't really think you get an opinion on this subject anymore.
