I'm not saying they did -- it's a response to Bobby saying that racists should be beaten up. My point is that everyone has the right to hate, even if it's something as puerile as hating a bunch of white kids wearing MAGA hats for being white kids wearing MAGA hats.
Again, it's not that I wouldn't be annoyed that someone didn't like me...I guess I'm just too educated to be affected by random insults? I mean if someone knew personal information about me that might trigger me. But if someone makes fun of my race or makes an assumption about what I support? I mean clearly they're just making things up so I can't imagine how that would anger me to the point of violence. Again, I think you just have thin skin.
Eh, not really how diseases work, especially on a regional level, it wasn't a lack of technological advances, because they picked up on all the tech that came their way, they didn't have the numbers and again, not all of them were hostile to the colonists at first, it wasn't the first time they saw people coming to their land on ships. Yes, your entire stance against ANTIFA is basically this. Antifa exists to attack racists. Physically if need be. You just said here that racist being racist in public places should get beat up...well..that's the EXACT stance Antifa takes. Their whole thing is beating up racist at protests like this and now you're saying that...that's okay?
#1 Can you read? In that same post I said that some of the Native America protesters were saying nasty things and it was pathetic. Seriously, it is like you have a defect. #2 I never said someone wearing a MAGA hat deserves harassment..... again, try reading the post more slowly. #3 Yeah.... the kids were smug. They were jumping and mocking Phillips. smug adjective \ ˈsməg \ smugger; smuggest Definition of smug 1: highly self-satisfied #4 Yes, wearing a MAGA cap, you should expect people to confront you. I never said it acceptable, but someone wearing a MAGA hat should expect there is a real chance that they will be confronted or have nasty comments addressed to them. This isn't some wild new bit of knowledge either. #5 No, I didn't see Phillips say or do anything nasty. If you choose to see it that way, it is your choice. #6 Nope, a lot of those kids acted like losers but they are teenagers and it is to be expected. Mocking a 65 year old Native America war veteran is loser behavior. Yet, as I said, they have some what of an excuse. The Black Hebrews and Native's saying nasty things to minors are pathetic. #7 I have no criticism of Phillips.
Like I said, a lot people will see the video and interpret what’s going on according to their ideological filters — emphasizing and interpreting certain visual/audio evidence while minimizing or ignoring other evidence. You will not understand how he can possibly think he was engaging in a peaceful march/activism, unless you can put yourself in his shoes and imagine what he was thinking when those crowd of kids started gathering around him and doing what they did while he was singing to his drum beat.
This. They are free to hear the public express revulsion but at the end of the day, in America it isn't illegal to be an *******
Again, what people are seeing in the various videos seems to differ from person to person. Hadn't heard this reported yet... Fuller video casts new light on Covington Catholic students' encounter with Native American elder https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...deo-shows-viral-protest-new-light/2635085002/ Yes, these are teens. That's why the focus should be on learning and not punishment.
He told you what he was thinking, he said he didn't think he should have to walk around the kid because of 500 yrs of white people crimes. He told you that he confronted the kid and why he stood in his face, which the video shows. You literally base your peaceful march theory off what the guy who lied says. No video evidence to support your claims. In fact all video evidence supports the opposite. Then you accuse others of looking through an ideological filter. What in the videos makes you think Phillips was being peaceful when he drums in someones face with his pals yelling racist things? Also Phillips isn;t walking between the African Americans and the kids. He walks right into the kids and gets up in one of their faces. Its horseshit.
neither did I . read more slowly. yes you did. you are just being dishonest. mocking people harassing you and showing aggression to you is fine even if they are an old man.
wonder how come there's no video of the ENTIRE incident, not just the part portraying the kid as the bad guy or instigator.
I notice the Associated Press is still running their original news report on this topic. Reading it now, it seems almost quaint in its characterization of what transpired. No back pedaling here. full text in case they decide to pull it some time soon. https://apnews.com/58d9e567819346d185893e200ef440ea
So in your opinion anyone offended or angered by a person hurling racial slurs wouldn't be offended or angered if they were more educated? Is that really the stance you are taking here? That's exactly how immune systems work. The more your ancestors were exposed to, the better chance you have at fighting off disease. The more isolated a people are, the less they are exposed to, the weaker their immune system will be. On top of that, the "natives" of North America did very little by way of advancing technologically over the millennia, so when a more advanced people laid claim to lands they previously inhabited, they had no way of disputing that claim successfully. If there is one thing that world history has taught us is that if you don't continue to advance technologically you'll be left at the mercy of those who do. No, my stance against Antifa is that they go out and attack random people accusing them of being racists without cause. That's a lot different than reacting to being verbally assaulted with racist slurs or racist rhetoric. You blindly support Antifa because you are a socialist apologist and they are a socialist organization. The difference between labeling random people as "Nazis" and attacking them without provocation is considerably less than merely responding to an actual racist spewing hatred and slurs at people. I'm sure most people realize that.
You keep skipping over an important part of this whole event. He walked to a position in front of the kids — between the kids and the black activists — and the kids gathered around him and started jumping up and down to his music. Now, you may think how the kids gathered around him is an unimportant detail, because to you there’s nothing wrong with what they did. What’s interesting to me is your inability to see how someone could read that differently. And how when he says in that environment he felt threatened or dehumanized you think he must be lying. You are far too quick to accuse others you disagree with of dishonesty or insincerity, IMO.
let's not make a snap judgment based on a picture or some so call viral video... cause we werent there. There are 2 sides to every story.
LOL, you're still going with that lie? You just really want to hold on to your fake news don't you? The guy walked into the crowd of kids intentionally pushing his way to the middle, the kids didn't gather around him, this has been proven with video evidence....you do know that the racist hate group you are calling the "black activists" live streamed the entire thing right? You can see the native group walk up and push their way into the group of kids. You pushing this false narrative wouldn't be so bad if it was a knee jerk response based on what some people said happened but we have video evidence....and it's been posted multiple times in this thread so there's no excuse for what you are doing.
You don't think doing the tomahawk chop to him wasn't mocking him? I mean you can clearly hear them doing that.
None of this happened. I call him a liar because he says people chanted 'build the wall'. Lie . He claimed they blocked his path. Lie. He claimed he was surrounded by angry teens. Lie. They are smiling and luaughing. These are lies. But the ultimate absurdity of your position is to claim a guy beating a drum in a kids face while his pals say racist things at the kids is an attempt at creating peace. This isn't cultural misunderstanding thing durvasa. Hes an ass.
