we care because it set's precedent any other guy we sign as a 2way will try the same strategy, you have to be forward thinking.
James Harden is currently having an all-time season, and there’s no guarantee he plays at this level next season or beyond. Not doing everything you can to put the best team on the floor around him right now is a mistake.
A standard NBA contract with an Exhibit 10 that is converted to a Two-Way contract can later be converted back to a standard NBA contract, at the team's option. So, what has happened is House is on a standard, minimum contract that was converted to a 2-way. At any time until the end of the year, the 2-way can be converted back to the standard minimum deal, for the remainder of the year.
Oh no. Player gets his two-way deal converted to a guaranteed contract for the remainder of the season, then becomes a restricted free agent in the offseason. What a horrible scenario for the Rockets. I mean, it’s not like they couldn’t match any offer sheet he gets from another team or let him go if his play doesn’t warrant a long-term guaranteed contract. The only reason it’s a problem right now is because of luxury tax issues caused mostly by the 19 million owed to dead weight in Brandin Knight and Marquese Chriss.
Man some of y'all are thirsty af the same way we got House Morey will get someone else. Remember Ariza after Parsons, remember when everyone thought Luc was going to be a scrub, heck I remember when nobody batted an eye when House was released 2months ago.
James Nunnally was signed to replace House’s production. How is that going again? It’s not that easy to replace what House was giving the Rockets in the middle of the season. Especially with the limited assets the Rockets have to use in a potential trade by Feb. 7.
yeah I know that and it's at the option of the team, I have been saying that this what will most likely be done. the other poster was acting like his conversion was automatic and we are stuffing him. we still have that option, let it play out.
House has probably been Fielding after the highlights from when he threw the ball off the back board and dunked it back when played with the suns last season
Dude there you making stuff up that has nothing to do with the topic. house would not even be starting if Ennis and Gordon we are not hurt, since they are healthy his time would be cut anyway. Ennis just replaced what we were getting out House last night, how did that go?
Because it sets a dumb precedent to the rest of our FAs telling them all you need to do is suck up to Harden to get your payday. We have guys like Rivers, Gerald Green and soon Faried who are making the min if the Rox are pushovers to an undrafted FA in negotiations what do you think happens in their contract signing? House has become so overrated lol tbh we need a pg more than a wing. With Gordon and Ennis back he isn't as necessary as you think. Our wing lineup is Gordon, Ennis, Green with Green playing the way he is we dobt even miss House we need a pg who can spell Rivers and Harden more than another wing.
Actually, House was signed to an actual two-way contract, which is a Uniform Player Contract containing an Exhibit 1B, not an Exhibit 10. But that sort of contract also has the same conversion option.
I didn’t make anything up. Nunnally was signed to a 10-day contract almost immediately after the Rockets couldn’t come to terms with House and took his spot on the active roster. If Morey thought getting Gordon and Ennis back was enough to replace all of what House was doing, then Nunnally never gets signed. Furthermore, House has been better than Ennis this year on both ends of the court, and he would still start over him right now. Also, I’m betting the Rockets would much rather keep Eric Gordon in his super-sub role getting 30 minutes a game than make him a starter every night. That said, regardless, there is room in the Rockets rotation for House, Ennis and Gordon to all contribute, even when CP3 and Capela return. Also, I fail to see the problem in having as many quality players as possible that fit the Rockets system.
it's a provision - that the team may invoke - or they may chose not to... obviously they are not required to invoke it - or it would be a guarantee... The player otoh agrees to supply himself for use - if the team desires - for a 1 year minimum contract for the duration of the year.. provision 1. the action of providing or supplying something for use. "new contracts for the provision of services" synonyms: supplying, supply, providing, purveying, delivery, furnishing, equipping, giving, donation, sorry if u think the use of the word 'provision' is something that I've made up... there's a 'stipulation' that the player may be signed for the balance of the year to 1 year min contract... means the same thing... smh...
We care because we can actually use that time to develop our own guys instead of somebody who will leave after the season. NBA is a sprint not a marathon thats why Morey is trying to lock him up long term. Are you gonna die after this season? No? Then stop caring so much to the detriment of future seasons! NBA is a going concern we need talent for multiple seasons not just 1. The only reason House was needed was because EG was injured, well he is now healthy we have EG, Ennis and Green at the rotation spot thats more than enough for a wing rotation. Of course House is better than Ennis and Green but tbh the difference is nothing to cry about esp. on nights were Green puts 17 pts on the board and Ennis had 18 pts. I support Morey playing hardball with House and trying to lock him up for 3 years because we dont need him now. We have the leverage time to use it to get talent on the cheap for multiple years. He doesn't lile it? Tough. I hope Morey puts the screws on this guy!
Ennis is going to replace House did you forget about him? And now you are speculating on what the Rockets prefer to do, talk about making stuff up. Stay thirsty my friend.
You have officially lost it you think Rox would start House over Eric freaking Gordon? It doesnt even make aby sejse as Gordon plays better as a starter this year than from the bench. Just stop it dude. Your overrating House to high heavens if he scored 20 ppg ok but he also had lots of stinkers as a starter so just stop.
well... we'll see how that works out... maybe House caves and accepts a multi year deal... maybe Morey caves and converts him and we get the benefit of his services for the rest of the year... maybe both stand their ground, he leaves in the post season - and we get no further benefit whatsoever... time will tell...
Putting the screws to him would be never converting him this year, right? After that, do you think Morey should still make him an RFA? In the Summer, we can outbid all the way to $2m/yr, without dipping into the MLE.
So did you forget the "provision" that they have the right to send him to the g league of they don't come to terms? Why does this one "provision" out weigh the other? Why are you acting like he is owed something he is not.
