According to video evidence, you had a black supremacist group yelling racist rhetoric at the kids and the kids largely just laughing it off and playing along with them. You then had the native guys try to push through the middle of their group while yelling racist rhetoric at them. Again, these two groups are lucky that the kids had a good sense of humor and just laughed them off. If they were bad kids, the black supremacists and the native group easily could have ended up in the hospital. There was no one there to stop things if the kids took offense to the racist nonsense and decided to get violent.

The thinking I'm seeming to encounter is that not approving of this kids actions somehow implies everybody else in DC that afternoon was a saint. Well if they had been white and were wearing hats he disagreed with then he'd have been outraged by them. The black supremacists spewing racist rhetoric and the native group doing the same isn't really a problem though....certainly not as big a problem as a white kid with a hat he doesn't like standing and smiling. Nobody has tried to defend the black Israelites so there has no need to discuss. I have very strong feelings on the relative merits of the Antiones classic po boy vs the super po boy and getting the bread fresh from the store vs getting one from one of those soggy super market shelves. But since nobody's screaming in defense of soggy antonine super po boys I have exactly zero posts on the subject. And for the record I have no "beef" with Philips. He was trying to break up the yelling match. I think he could have probably done a better job of communicating his intent but he did his best.
