We can always free up a roster spot by offering Nunnally a long-term, team-friendly, NG contract, then when Nunnally turns it down (for a better offer in Europe), we cut him, blame him for being greedy, and say we don't need him anyway. Or does that only work with House. I still don't get why we'd sign Faried to a rest of the year contract. We should make him sign a 3yr team-friendly, NG contract.
Political term is betray. Having been betrayed by Ariza,Moute and house. This summer, betrayed guys would be faried and rivers.
signing Nunnally who allegedly can shoot 3s,and Kenneth Fareid who can provides hustles will teach Daniel House a valuable lesson, don't mess with Daryl
What we need is to put Morey and MDA on a team-friendly NG contract. Let's see how they do, they can play their way into some excellent contracts in half a decade. They'll make a million or so for now anyway, it's not like they'll starve! They should be grateful. If they don't accept it, we'll sow doubt in the rest of the league by behaving as though they are totally replaceable and not appreciative of how much we've invested in them so far. After all, what would Morey and MDA have achieved here without Harden? This is the best fit for them, there can't possibly be any other team which would be a good fit for them.
Avery Johnson compare faried to Tim Duncan, but faried can’t lead a team to win it all. Faried has declined a lot, fall off the earth. Hope he can play better than melo.
It’s amazing the scrubs this organization keeps surrounding harden with. I won’t blame Him if he demands to be traded this offseason
I get the sarcasm and the frustration behind the House contract situation, but ultimately this is a business, and Morey has to make the decisions that are in the best interest of the franchise. This idea that House is underappreciated because all Morey offered him was a veteran minimum deal (worth millions of dollars) seems a little asinine to me. Bottom line, the guy was a G Leaguer with less than 500 minutes of NBA action before the Rockets gave him a chance to shine this year. I understand the kid wanting to capitalize on this stretch of play, but Morey isn't just going to sign a guy with 50 games of NBA experience and success in an incredibly small sample size to some big deal. It sets a bad precedent, and it could hurt their cap situation down the road. The deal he offered was more than fair, especially given that he gave an essentially identical contract to Clark a few months back. I want the Rockets to sign House, too. But Danuel House probably isn't the difference between wining a title or losing one, and I think fans are overreacting a bit to Morey not freaking out and overpaying for a competent role player and career G-Leaguer. In the meantime, all he's done since Chris Paul and Clint Capela have gone down is add proven competent NBA players in Rivers and Faried on veteran minimum deals. But rather than look at the positives, Rockets fans just want to b**** about Morey not overpaying for one guy whose name they'd never heard of until two months ago.
Early on, with the dreadlocks, I sometimes would get Faried and Nene confused at first glance Now we have both So, I gotta ask: Can Faried play more than every 3rd game?
This signing allows us to play Hartenstein. On defense, Faried would play the 4 and Hartensteing the 5, but in our offensive sets, Faried would take Capelas position as the pick and roll man and Hartenstein can sit at the corner where PJ tuckers stands.
Having not watched a ton of Faried in recent years, I can pretty much only look at the highlights and the numbers. One thing that jumps out at me is the massive disparity between his advanced stats. His PER (21.2), TS% (62.2) and WS/48 (.162) in his small sample size in Brooklyn have been excellent and roughly in line with some of the numbers from his better seasons in recent years, but that BPM (-3.6) gives me serious concerns. Despite being efficient and effective in limited minutes, something was causing him to have a negative impact on the floor and forcing Brooklyn to keep him on the bench. I still think he could have a positive impact on this team as someone to crash the glass and roll to the rim in Capela's absence. And Rivers' numbers had looked far worse than Faried's before coming here, so I'm going to keep an open mind about this. But I'm going to be skeptical about this acquisition until we see how it plays out in action.
They asked House to initially sign a 3 years non-guaranteed contract. He probably isn't good enough for the remaining MLE, but low balling a player who has considerably played better than James Ennis and MCW will lower Houston's reputation. Nobody likes that.
