That's my point - why are you taking Buzzfeed so seriously anyway?

I don't know if this was good reporting or what not, but it seems to me that buzzfeed isn't the washington post or ny times.

 

I'll defend BuzzFeed News, they are usually better than this which is why I think the authors and the editor that allowed this story to go forward should be fired if they aren't somehow redeemed by the facts.

They certainly have their bias, every news source does but usually they try harder than this.

 

Thanks. We know Mueller runs a tight ship and tries to clamp down on leaks.

Who knows whether this story will give his investigation a push against any overt influence by the new director.

For all we know, his office issued a broad denial to reduce the noise his actual case will make. From Woodward's book, there's a full course buffet of lies, misdeeds, and misdirection by Trump and his cronies. That alone will not ruin his support base or cause obstructionist Republicans to impeach and convict.

I don't think they are credible because of who holds their leash and their bad history. Most outlets exist to make money and ethics be damned now because appealing to one side gets clicks. They are getting caught with their pants down again and they doubled down.

Mueller is probably sick of Buzzfeed, since it was their publishing of the phony dossier that led to Mueller and friends initiating the Special Counsel process based entirely on a fabricated political attack by the Clinton campaign and the media.... and Mueller wasted two years of his life, and the FBI, CIA and Obama-DOJ have been exposed as politically biased frauds. Thanks Buzzfeed!

The "Russia" story just jumped the shark. The liberals have been played for fools for two years now -- wishing a crime was committed... and confidently proclaiming that a crime was committed -- without a shred of proof. All based on lies. Journalism is exposed. Obama's political weaponizing of the intelligence agencies has been exposed. And most of all, the media have been exposed of having no journalistic or ethical standards.

Buzzfeed was never considered a legit source of news, that's the point. No one especially lawmakers should be taking them seriously. I certainly don't.

Over time we might find out, like the Dossier, that the basis is pretty damn close and it was worth it to get it out in the public with the caveat of the sourcing.

A. Almost everyone said “If true” when talking about conclusions and what it means. Nobody was saying to not find the facts out and that Congress was not needing that evidence before impeaching.

B. The reporter clearly stated he himself had not seen the evidence leaving everyone to know that this is essentially sourced here-say. All of the networks also said “we have not independently verified” which is kind of a tell that the sourcing is not readily available for a thorough editing process.

But I think like the Dossier, Buzzfeed should still let the public know but maybe even in a more tempered way. They had to know that this would cause a right wing talking point and the Trump cult would seize on this regardless is the substance was mostly accurate.

If I had to guess where they were innacurate it was the mention of “Trump organzation employees”. Mueller’s team wouid comment on that because the reporting could indicate the Mueller team is not sticking to their mandate to Russia and the CAMPAIGN which is a big deal and cause a narrative for potential firing of Mueller if Trump chose to make decisions based off of Buzzfeed reports.
