I've always liked Faried. Yes, he's undersized, and no he can't stretch the floor. However, we have centers (with out Clint) who can't stretch the floor, have the size, but still can't rebound. Faried was that guy that played as hard as possible for every second he was on the floor. If this signing can motivate him to be that guy (yes, obviously he's older), but I think he could be a pretty big help. We needed something...and I'm sorry for some clutchfan members on here that were wanting to go out and get a player the likes of a 7'3 rebounding machine, it just wasn't going to happen. At least Faried will box his man out on every single play, and will hustle, which is more than anything we have at the 5 right now. "But he doesn't have the size for the 5! We won't be able to rebound!" News flash, we can't right now either. I'll take a guy like Faried who boxes out on each play and we can at least have more of a chance. Anything to cut down on those extra possessions will be absolutely huge. I like the signing, and I hope it works out well.
Unlikely to help us when we're healthy, but until Clint comes back he certainly improves us upfront. Can finish and help on the boards. Never been a smart defensive player, but he is much better than playing Chriss or swingman at the 5
All these obvious typos make me wonder if everybody on here is drunk and/or excited right now. No insult...party on!!!
Wow. I assumed Faried was about the same age as Harden, but he's actually younger. I always liked him, until about 3 years ago when he started sucking. Hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to get too excited about another NBA reclamation project, seeing as how the Melo/Knight/Chriss/MCW ones have turned out this year.
I think this is probably the best signing of the season. This guy was so good in an up tempo system when he was with coach Karl. He might not be a great a 1 on 1 defender like tucker but he is a pretty good help defender. He is going to provide some solid minutes to relieve our 4 and 5. He is also going to make James more efficient when Clint is not on the court as they have to respect the same lob for harden/faried. For a vet min contract, you really can’t get a better bargain at this time. Overall this is a great signing and I’m looking forward for the chemistry to grow between the Manimal and our point gods.
Right, the Chriss and Clark experiment are over. If nothing else, it's good Capela insurance until he gets back and and active body in short spurts when he does return. Would we have been able to still sign him, and other buyouts like him down the road, if we gave House the contract he wanted?
