As it stands now, the rockets are almost in a rebuilding type of scenario because they really dont stand a chance at being number 1 in the west like last season.
At the end of the day, Darryl morey evaluates the team based off of last year's success since they were first in West last year.

The rockets are on the Fringe of rebuilding because they are only ahead of Utah, San Antonio, and the clippers. Plus Lebron is out right, and no one should doubt that the Lakers will go on a run with LeBron.

House should avoid a collateral damage position in the rockets organization since his value with the team is very low at this point.

I wonder which person in the Rockets’ organization asked Smith to write that editorial.

So I'm guessing the rockets will not offer Corey Brewer a 10 day contract any time soon

Give House 2 years 4 million contract, he would sign.

Tilman has 4.4 billion assets. 4 million is not 0.1%. Do it Cheapo Tilman.

Yeah the rockets could have matched the rookie contract that golden state gave Draymond green or something close to it. IMO. Back in the day, Draymond green's rookie deal was 3 years for 2.6 million.

House would be getting paid more than what DG's rookie contract was. it's more than what late first round picks even get

Can't blame House for betting on himself.......the Rockets are just playing hard ball - they would rather win in the money situation than on the court.

    Actions speak louder than words.

House's deal from the rockets was a pro-rated crack head deal. It was a crack head deal because the deal allowed him to 'get paid today but become broke tommorow!'

Essentially, if the team struggles in the playoffs then house ends up being draft night trade for Duke's r.j. Barrett.

do you even know what you're talking about.

House's 3 year guaranteed deal offer is more than your measly claim that he should of gotten at least DG's contract. so the answer is no you dont

Under morey management, it's championship or bust, so taking a minimum salary amounts to collateral damage if the team does not advance.

Also taking a minimum puts him in forefront of being humiliated if the team decides to cut him before the deal takes the full effect.

lmao yeah you don't know what you're even posting. A guaranteed contract has 0 to do with this advance logic. go do some research plz

these are the types of people trying to tell a FO how to operate LOL

Just a thought before we assume Tillman is being cheap... Morey nearly ALWAYS plays hard ball with role players.

I guess the last time he seemed over eager on a role player was Lull and who knows what went on behind the scenes.

All these guys got 1yr minimum deals with the risk Non-Bird rights would cause Morey to lose them. That's all House is asking for
    • Luc
    • Green
    • Rivers
    • Nene
    • Ennis
    • MCW
He only plays hardball with rookie-ish role players...by demanding multi-years (to protect flexibility of future Exceptions). He applies a different approach based upon what he thinks he can get away with....but in House's case, he doesn't care if Harden needs the player now or not. His main focus is on making his Summer negotiations easier, while at the same time, his whole philosophy is that a revolving door of vet mins is possible every year.

This is a Player Lockout, during Harden's best season to date, so that Morey can maintain some type of precedence of negotiations for the future. At some point, you have to set precedence aside, and field the best team, now.

I disagree. Morey does not have enough tax budget to sign House in summer unless he choose House over Rivers.
Best guess is that Tilman tax budget is below $25 million.
Other team's GM have eyes too.

Ok. I made a mistake in the other thread.

This is the post I nominate for worst of the week.

It's in a G-League players best interest to not play with the greatest player in basketball, who generates wide open shots for G-Leaguers like him?

    Colour me mighty confused.
