Trump has lied about his dealing with Russia/Putin/Oligarchs, especially Trump Tower Moscow.

 

Keep in mind that Bill Barr essentially shut down the Iran Contra investigation by having George H. Bush issue blanket pardons for everyone involved in that investigation his way out the door.

He should be asked about this during his confirmation hearing more than anything because there is precedent, and he obviously believes it is constitutional.

If Trump thinks that shutting down the government for months helps him politically because his base is a brainwashed cult, then he'll think the same with blanket pardons.

Only thing with Pardons though is Trump would likely need to wait till he's leaving office. If he pardons someone they can then be compelled to testify. But its likely what Barr will advise to Trump to avoid any legal jeopardy for him and his family. The power of the pardon is pretty damn broad as Barr has shown us previously under Bush.

 

Trump doesn't work for anybody. He worked with Russia!

Maybe, maybe not exactly, but what I will say is its becoming quite obvious that the big moment that changed everything were those three or four days around when Devin Nunes made his midnight run in March of 2017, and the crescendo came in May when Comey was fired.

This was the time period when the entire Republican party just completely did an about face on Russia & went all in on destroying the investigation. I have to believe that it was because the Gang of 8, and others were briefed by the FBI that there wasn't just an investigation going on, but learned about the scope and the ties back to the GOP money. The NRA being one of those sources of money.

I think what we'll learn about in the end like with any investigation is its always about the money. McConnell, Graham, Paul Ryan, etc. etc.... they all know that if there is financial ties that go top down, its something that will be detrimental to ALL of them. Thats why they did an about face, and ALL decided to group cover up-obstruct.

 

Reality slapped him across the face. If he wants to stay in office he had to to get in line. As he said, South Carolina is Trumpistan. He realized his career would be over in his next race if he was still the enemy of Donald Trump.

I don't believe for a minute that he likes Trump any more now than he did then, but he's a survivor.
