What does Harden need to do to win over the casual fans?

I wouldn't expect fair calls....Golden State makes the NBA a lot of money.

 

I just started a thread last night with math showing that Harden doesn't get "way more free throws than everyone else". But the casual fan will never care about math. They'll look to see what people are talking about on Twitter and mimic whoever is getting the most likes. This is how people work now.

 

Harden needs to stop worrying about his numbers and play to win. That's why people don't like him. His priorities are all effed up. Then he chockes in the playoffs, Idon't think Harden is mentally tough att all.

That's why last year Paul had to make excuses and console him after having bad games in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Harden is pouting and cant handle that he's not the reason the rockets were winning.

Bottomline is, if winning was truly his number one priority everyone would love Harden, but it's not. Unless he does it his way, which is ; going to clubs, putting up sexy numbers, doing minimal work on defense because he needs the energy to put up sexy numbers.. and the coach couldn't give a crap because having Harden put up sexy numbers makes him look like a genueis.

That's why he runs him almost 40 min a night. And if your gonna do that you have to play guys like PJ, Ariza, CP almost 40 min because they do the dirty work that allows harden to put up sexy numbers and half asss every other aspect of basketball.

You guys like to wonder why does Dantoni play Tucker so many min over guys like Clarck or House, it's because Tucker understands he has do much dirty work for Harden. For God's sake we came up with a whole new way to play defense (switch everything) to make up for Harden being the worst and most lazy defender in the NBA.

 

Win the NBA Finals. Thats it.

he travels 100x per game, shoots 25 FT's per game, only cares about stats not wins, chokes in the playoffs, nobody wanna play with him b/c he's a ballhog chucker, his game is ugly to watch, he's ruining bball, etc etc

Pretty obvious he just needs to join the Warriors or the Lakers. Bigger markets own the media, the script will flip quickly. You saw how the media hated Dwight as soon as he left LA

 

yep replace kd or steph with harden and harden has multiple rings by now

and lakers can build a better cast and coaching staff around harden

 

Your entire post is extraordinarily bad, but this has got to be the worst part of it. You think the switch everything defense has something to do with Harden being bad on defense? That doesn't even make sense.

No he's just really talented and plays for a great organization.

 

It’s over really. You can see it here on clutchfans still. The guys who did all the b****ing about Harden for the past 5-6 years are still the same ones who can’t help but complain the second his performance drops to normal human levels.

No one is really going to change their mind. Some will begrudgingly respect his production(especially if we somehow win a title), but he’s not going to “win” people over.

Beat the warriors. I've never seen as many "I used to hate Harden, but now..." comments as I did the night after that absurd game in GS.

Having said that, as long as he continues to be the national media's punching bag, people are going to blindly believe he travels on every step-back, plays no defense, shoots exponentially more FTs than anyone else, etc. Very few fans actually consistently watch the players they so avidly despise, so they're left to rely on the national media's narrative. At the end of the day, Harden has been playing angry lately and it's pushed him up to a level we haven't seen before. So let the hate continue. He feeds off of it. Better to be the underdog than an overrated media-darling.
