Yes, they are. The 55% of the problem is not a valid reason to not solve the 45% of the problem. That nonsense is only brought up to distract from the conversation being had.
And, btw, just as more Americans voted for "the other guy"... the majority of Americans are against the wall, and even a larger majority are against the government (and tax payers) paying for the wall.
Here's a fun fact: Federal law states that anyone can apply for asylum on U.S. soil, regardless of immigration status. They can also apply for asylum at a designated point of entry. I think that says "anyone" I don't think it has any assumptions about why.
This entire wall conversation is only brought up to distract from the fact that Trump is compromised by a hostile foreign power. Though people like you that allowed themselves to be conned by Donald J Trump will not be able to see that until the ship is at the bottom of the ocean, which won’t be too much longer now.
LOL, so illegal immigration is only meant to distract from a delusional fantasy you have? That's an interesting take.
Apprehensions and illegal immigration declined after construction of the US border wall. Which obviously means walls don't work.
So it's a crisis. Building a wall will discourage those who are planning to cross the border because they would know that it won't be as easy as it once was. After the wall, attempts of border crossing will decrease dramatically. Let's see if the Democrats really care about unaccompanied minors.
If Trump really believes what he is saying now-- that there is a national emergency and that using the emergency declaration to build his wall is perfectly legal--, then why in the world didn't he make the declaration a month ago instead of dragging the government through this shutdown that benefits nobody? It's not like he hadn't had two years before this to get wall funding from Congress.
Let's clear the air and get real. Wallers are white supremacist who's main fear is a fevered dream about brown people obtaining equal political power. That's really right isn't it, because I don't see a real issue here. Frankly the yards of West Houston have never looked nicer, if I want to build a deck I can go over to Westpark and get good labor help for $100 a day, my former housekeeper and her husband were refugee's from Guatemala where her first husband was disappeared, they now own a home in Alief and raised a son that became a US Marine. Climate change is a more impactful issue but the same wallers deny it, US infrastructure is aging poorly and wallers avoid it ( immigrant labor could help fix that stuff ), there is lead in a lot of USA drinking water, are you up in arms about it? So just admit it and we can discount you and move on.
It's the framing of a "national emergency" over an issue where the "emergency" is literally at a half century all time low for the past decade. That is the glaring problem. We will ways have some sort of flux of undocumented migration. However, we are currently in a historical period where that flux has been at an all time low relative to the past half century. Donald Trump making this into a national emergency is exactly the standard type of handwaiving only in a more blatant form that all politicians do. Imagine Trump actually shutting down the government over actual systemic issues such as legal bribary of our politicians.
Believable. After many months of demonizing ("criminal invading force") and dehumanizing ("zoos have walls") people wanting to come to the United States for a better life, you now change the story to "humanitarian crisis" as a way of getting trump's expensive vanity wall.
No, not really. It was a response to those effectively saying that there was no problem at the border, illegal immigration isn't a problem, and that this is all essentially fake news. That doesn't strawman their position. Now that's just an insane take, but it's what people have come to expect from the left. The "if you disagree with me politically you are a white supremacist" rhetoric just serves to exclude people who say those kinds of things from the conversation. In short, if that's your opinion, you don't get to be part of the conversation anymore because you are exposing yourself as inherently irrational. Also, if we go with what you are saying, it means that Obama, Chuck Schumner, Hillary Clinton, and the vast majority of Democrats are white supremacists because they supported building walls before the age of "orange man bad" politics. Put more thought, or at least some, into your crazy takes if you want to remain in the conversation.
It really does though, that's why you don't even attempt to debunk what he is saying with anything more than just saying "NUH-UH!". The facts are that when they built 700 miles of border barriers it drastically reduced illegal immigration and it would be drastically reduced again if the job were finished.
This special dedication is for The Donald. The Donald and his wall... so lonely since she (Nancy Pelosi) up and went away.
