Borowitz gets a twofer here... Kavanaugh Offers to Pay for Wall by Recycling His Empties By Andy Borowitz WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In a bid to end the government shutdown, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said on Thursday that he would recycle his empties to pay for a wall with Mexico. Speaking to reporters from his office at the Court, Kavanaugh said that the inspiration came to him while he was building a beer-can pyramid in his basement rec room on Wednesday night. “I was in my man cave, building this rad beer pyramid, and I was, like, I bet if I recycled all the beer cans down here plus the ones out in the garage, I’d have enough to pay for that freaking wall,” the Supreme Court Justice said. He added that he started calling a number of his friends from Georgetown Prep to see if they would contribute their empties to the effort, and found that they were “totally stoked” about the idea. “P.J., Tobin, and Squee are all in,” he said. “This wall is gonna freaking rule.”
Folks love when trump tries to show off his great mind... Wall of Jericho: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall_of_Jericho Wheel: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel
btw, previously trump tweeted this lie about President Obama as a way to drum up support for his expensive vanity wall. But there are always people like astrodome that will believe anything trump says or tweets... No, the Obamas Don't Have a 10-Foot Wall Around Their D.C. Home (Despite What Trump Tweeted) https://people.com/politics/donald-trump-obama-home-wall/
Yea, he rushed to the border with troops, demanded a 30 foot tall wall and shut down the government to get the Obama Wall (patent pending) built. Oh wait, that was trump.
yeah, I think that whole Obama-doesn't-have-a-wall-around-his-house shtick is a loser for anti-wall folks
trump's latest end run to try to get his expensive vanity wall built? Trump could take billions from disaster areas to fund wall Under the proposal, Trump could dip into money set aside to fund civil works projects all over the country including storm-damaged areas of Puerto Rico. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...r-areas-fund-wall-n957281?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_np
If walls worked so well, they wouldn't require armed guards all over the place would they? A wall is only as good as the people preventing you from crossing it.
In 2006 you had Democrats talking about how effective and amazing the wall they were building would be. In 2019 you have Democrats pretending that they don't understand what walls are for. Humans first understood the value of walls approximately 10,000 years ago Orange man bad politics have really set Democrats back quite a way.
Indeed, but not one that takes very long to beat. We've seen Whitehouse fence jumpers have some success and that is pretty highly guarded. The main reason fences and walls are effective is the benefits aren't worth the risks. When your life sucks enough that you would walk thousands of miles to get somewhere else, you've already decided the benefits are worth the risk. Now I realize plenty of wall builders are perfectly happy to see border jumpers shot, but that isn't going to happen.
CNN’s Jim Acosta mocked for accidentally proving that border walls work https://www.foxnews.com/politics/cn...for-accidently-proving-that-border-walls-work His TDS has him supporting Trump now, poor lil crying Jimmy.
That's simply not true. A 20-30 foot border fence would take a pretty long time to "beat" for most people. They aren't invincible, but they aren't intended to be. The point is to slow people down so that it's easier for border patrol to respond. At a minimum, even if people are capable of "beating" them, they provide a choke point meaning that it requires fewer Border Patrol agents to respond in order to put an end to the illegal entry. Your average person isn't going to be carrying TWO 20-30 foot fences with them as they walk across the desert so for most people the wall will do it's job without any response needed from Border Patrol at all.
By "most people", I'm not making a statement as to their criminal history or intentions. I'm just using it to say "most people" as in the vast majority of people who would seek to enter the US be them murderer or saint. If a wall stops the vast majority of people attempting to enter the US illegally then it will be more than worth the price tag. On top of that, the added time it takes people to cross will make it easier for Border Patrol to respond meaning fewer and fewer slip between the cracks and successfully make it into the country. The harder you make it to cross successfully, the fewer people will be willing to even attempt it. Before you know it you'll be counting illegal crossings in the hundreds per month rather than tens of thousands per month and that's a win for everyone involved.
Apparently your GOP Congress has TDS.... why didn’t they put the money in the partial spending bill in December 2018???
