I freely admit to not knowing Shakespeare. Couldn't stand it in high school. Had no idea that's where the term came from. And don't care. And don't know why you're bringing it up. Please don't waist :)rolleyes:) our time on that crap.

We did. And I was hoping we could keep him. He'd have been better for us than Melo. And I stated that when he was here. Would still take him over Clark and Ennis for sure. And Melo obviously.

We had Shaun Livingston too. And cut him. After he balled out for us in preseason. He promptly went to the Warriors and beat on us for the last several years.

And we had Whiteside at RGV and available to sign. Could have had him on the same minimum salary deal Miami had him on for two years. We could've trade Terrence for a decent second rounder and signed Whiteside....during the 13-14 season when I was talking about him finally being ready. Then we'd have had him at full Birds rights and could've traded him right in his third season when he was approaching restricted free agency and probably copped a first for him.

Those were all moves I was wanting. Keeping Livingston. And signing Whiteside midway through the 13-14 season.

Does that mean Morey is dumb? No. There are a lot of other factors involved. And...even the very best GM's, talent evaluators make mistakes. Because it isn't a 100% business. It's big money combined with young kids in a high injury risk activity. So Morey is very intelligent. As are most GM's. But there are other intelligent people that aren't GM's. And not very many moves GM's make are optimal in hindsight. And some of them are poor in hindsight.

Look at MCW.....Look at Onuaku draft.....what a waste. Even the Anderson trade isn't looking good.....right now.....is it? Be honest.

Does Capela become more playable if Boogie is playing 28 min a game for GSW? I'd think so but just wondering out loud.

i think he's playing either way. his free throw shooting and post play have gotten better. they've got to ride or die with CC. we'll need tucker to guard one of their wings.

Knowing the meanings of the words you are using is not "crap."
What did you think "baited breath" meant? "Breath like a fish hook with a worm on it"?
Shakespeare is not crap either. But hey, your own feelings in high school are the true standards to go by, right?

Let's not waste too much time pining over Whiteside. That's $25,000,000 per season the Heat would LOVE to dump on some other sucker.

I was never for paying him. I was for signing him at the minimum and then trading him as a restricted free agent. We find the Chandler Parsons, we don't pay them. - principle at work.

In hindsight my suggestions on both Terrence and Whiteside were on the money.

It definitely isn't IF we could have gotten Anderson to take that 5 mill discount for us. The second that detail came out the deal went from positive/neutral to negative.

We essentially swapped two identical contracts for while gifting them Melton.

Is this thread really going back to Whiteside with RGV & this fictitious Terrence Jones for a 2nd rounder trade that only Bobby/Hollic knows was on the table that Morey just decided not to do?

If Whiteside would have beat out Vernon Macklin for minutes in the valley then maybe Morey would have had the case to sign him but the FACTS are that Whiteside didn't make the leap to being able to play at the NBA speed until he went overseas and then came back.

People act like the two year hiatus from the NBA just didn't happen and that Morey just didn't see something that was there at the time. Like Zhou Qi this year with the Rockets, yeah you can see that at some point he could finally start playing up to NBA speed, but no GM will sign him now with the assumption that it will happen anytime soon.

However, like Whiteside, Zhou could do something similar and at some point he catches up to the speed of the game here. Are people going to still give Morey grief then too in 2021 if/when Zhou is back in the league?

Whiteside was no different overseas than he was in gleague. Same attitude. It's obvious his attitude has never changed. That's why Miami wants rid of him so badly and precisely why I was against ever paying him big money. You can pretend he learned to play overseas. But he didn't learn anything over there. He simply got to play without changing his attitude. He was ready for the NBA physically and skills wise before he went. Nothing about his game changed, matured, or developed overseas.
