Keep withdrawing troops from countries that only few years ago were a breeding ground for terrorists, breaking non-proliferation pacts and totally undermining your military advisors. I'm sure all that is making us so f*cking safe...
Yep we've always been pro-wall until trump came along... You figured us all out. What were you doing in 2006, Rocketslegend?
It's never that simple. While the Republicans were in charge of the Senate, they didn't have a filibuster proof majority meaning that they couldn't get anything past Democrat obstructionism. Now that Democrats took the house, the ONLY way to get them to even consider the idea of border security is by forcing the issue by shutting down the government. It's unfortunate it has come to this, but unavoidable due to "orange man bad" politics. Again, your only objection to the physical border is pedantic nonsense about it being a concrete wall or a steel fence? I mean, Chuck Schumer proudly supported building 700 miles worth of physical border just 12 and a half years ago....what changed? He certainly thought they were effective and wasn't worried about the cost then, what changed? Is the fact that the current fence proposal would be a more efficient model than the one they supported in 2006 the problem? Is it the fact that it would actually do the job instead of just taking care of 700 miles the problem? Again, you picked a really foolish hill to die on given where everyone outside of the fringe left stood on this issue just a few years ago. As to the definition of crisis, I'm pretty sure Democrats pushed the notion of a humanitarian crisis at the border less than a year ago....what happened? When you flip flop, it's best to take a little bit longer to do so.
Finally, an emotional argument, which is the only thing most people use since they lack brains. Everyone... fund the wall for the women and children....
If Trump suggested a "fence" instead of "wall" or "steel barrier", then you'd have some ground to stand on. I already explained the difference. It may be pedantic to you but US was build on values first and foremost - that's what make her great. And, yes - I'm happy to "die" on that "pedantic" hill. And let's not talk about flip flopping. Your idol is a former democrat who claimed he can't stop separating families only to issue an executive order a few weeks later.
I don’t hang out here, but lets be honest... a good number of people will reject almost anything Trump wants to do because he is a racist, pathological liar, human garbage, incompetent, idiotic child man. And a good number of people will support anything he proposes despite that. Just go ahead and block the child from doing anything as President for the rest of his insufferable term. It’s whats necessary for the country. Maybe we can get the Republican Party back.
They didnt have super majorities. I'm not sure you understand what those are. Because dems aren't making an argument to not fund the wall. Did u watch pelosi/Schumer last night? They explained why the shutdown is bad (its not), but never explained why we shouldn't have a wall. What possible argument could there be besides the cost?
republicans could have used existing and unused appropriations to divert funding to fence related projects that would not have required a supermajority. They didn't, because republicans really didn't want it either. Democrats and others (eg the libertarian Cato Institute) have made the argument why building trump's vanity wall is a huge mistake. You just refuse to see it. Its not just cost (though the cost is an important part of the argument against this boondoggle). But even if it were cost alone... you are now setting up the argument that no government project should be rejected for cost... I am not sure you really want to do that.
Happy to share my twitter feed with you if interested. The easy solution to me not posting negative things about trump would be trump not saying and doing things that warrant negative posts. He could start by stopping lying... that would eliminate at least 15 posts a day. But how is posting a tweet by Oliver Darcy "anonymous"?
LOL trump cares more about tax payer funded campaign promises than safety. This is a campaign re election attempt that he wants all of us to pay for. If you think this is about safety then all I can say is awww how cute and ask if you are house trained. At what point will you admit you'd rather be a russian than democrat? How soon is now?
I didn't say that's what the word crisis means. The meaning is this. There wasn't a crisis before, and since there has only been less illegal immigration how would there be a crisis now? The idea that now it is supposedly a crisis would have to mean that things have gotten worse.
Amy Klobuchar's response (the Democrat's not using her for the address response was a mistake, though guess they didn't want to favor one candidate)...
