just cross out Obama and insert Trump. Sad! https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...243a40ddc97_story.html?utm_term=.b0ab5ee840ec
You will have to provide an excerpt of your whataboutism since I don't have a WaPo subscription. Thanks!
I think it’s like if you feared it was herpes, turned out to be both herpes AND gonnorhea, but also knew theyd be gone in a few years.
This is what people do when they cannot refute what someone has posted. It's essentially admitting defeat in the most toxic manner possible.
This comparison doesn't sit well with me. I don't recall Obama using the office of the Presidency, let alone some type manufactured "national emergency", to fundraise quite so blatantly. It's one thing to just go fundraise for the sake of fundraising... it's another thing to use the tools/powers of the office to fundraise... or to piggyback off them. If Obama ever did that, I'd appreciate someone pointing it out.
Seriously, you are whatabouting President Obama's attending fundraisers throughout the year to trump's fundraising about his first oval office address to discuss his government shutdown and made up crises?
Couple of articles about Trump's authority to declare an emergency and redirect military funds toward building the wall/fence. http://thefederalist.com/2019/01/09/yes-trump-might-able-declare-emergency-build-wall/ https://www.lawfareblog.com/everyone-calm-down-about-declaration-national-emergency
If Truman wasn't able to use a state of emergency to take hold of U.S. steel back when there were truly dire circumstances, then there is no way it would be valid at this time.
