Need to close the gap with the Colts. They completely retooled this past off season and have more cap space than the Texans. Hoping this is a huge off season for the organization. Gotta make a run with Watson on his rookie deal!

    Go Texans!!

I hope somehow they can get Jalen Ramsey, DeSean Jackson and Le'veon Bell in Houston. If they have to go cheap and let Clowney walk to get good a legit offensive lineman I'm ok with that, Anthony Barr is cheaper replacement if need be or maybe Duke will be ready this season

No way they let Clowney walk. They’ll franchise him at the very least.

Drafting for need instead of bpa is how mediocre teams stay mediocre

Also, rookies are not likely to fix their problems; they need experience. This is a team built to win today not tomorrow.

You can certainly lean OL/CB in the draft to address needs/fill depth and get some second-line help - but they need to use their cap space to go get guys they know can make an impact.

Clowney is an ideal fit for the franchise tag. Scared to death of giving that guy a long guaranteed deal - he's a guy that you want to keep playing for a contract as long as possible.

He might hold out though. If I were him, I would in that situation

That's what I would do. I don't think his play warrants the contract he's about to get. I'm beating the drum for Le'Veon Bell this offseason so I'd rather draft the best olb available in the third than pay Clowney

I think we could let about 14-15 of our free agents walk and not get worse. The way the Texans' D was on third down this weekend (and mostly all year) was shameful.

Yeah.....pay $17 million to a LOCKER ROOM Cancer. Y'all didn't want Duane Brown, but you want Bell? I'm not paying $17 million a year (that is what he wants) to a 27 year old RB...LOL. Clowney will be tagged, atleast.....to sign him or trade him.

You are also opening up another need. OT, CB, and WR are higher priorities.
