Get Robert Covington back Daryl, you screwed up in not keeping him over Francisco Garcia.

I feel bad for Minny fans. They get their wish and immediately there is the Hoidberg news.Like a Scottish shower.
I imagine if when Kidd got fired woj immediately came out and said they were hiring MJax. Suicide watch.

Dollar amount would be easy Covington is on a relatively affordable contract. Four years 62 mil, some ppl on here would’ve gladly given that to decrepit ass Ariza

It just doesn’t work anymore. There is too much technology, too much information and it is too complicated for one person to be both. The closest you will get it Pop or Riley. In the case of Riles he essentially trained a head coach for years to make sure he had his principles... as for SA, it isn’t a coincidence Buford has been there forever... he and Pop are a machine. There is no way Pop could do both with someone he hasn’t been working with for decades.

Even Morey.... who wanted more input in rotations and coaching decisions, has backed off with D’Antoni and has learned having a “yes man” doesn’t work.

Thibs has burned a lot of bridges. He doesn’t compromise. For as good as he was in Chicago (and he was excellent), I’m not sure many owners want to hire someone that thinks owners are stupid, dislikes GM’s and wants final say.

Yeah Rob would be exactly what we are/were looking for, a big SF with lenght and range on a good contract, i'm just not sure the Wolves will trade him, he's literally the only good defender they have between their younger players...than again, you never know with an organization like the Wolves.

Yeah I’m just not so sure Morey will, especially since we are paying the tax already.

Only way I see it happening is if the organization feels he’s a difference maker and they can shed Knight and Possibly Chriss too. Just one mans opinion though.

The only pure GM/coach left is Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota.

3 worst coaches in the nba history are
    Tom Thibodeau,
    J. B. Bickerstaff
    Scott Brook

These teams are supposed to be top 4 teams in the conference.

In terms of salary we would've to move Nene, Chriss (with maybe Ennis) or Knight, but with Knight it would probably require two 1st rounders, maybe more...with Chriss and Nene, not sure one would be enough tbh, mainly cause i don't think they have any interest in moving him unless they get a great offer, and i don't see Morey being that guy.

I know we are dreamcasting but there is zero reason for them to trade Covington....but it is the Wolves so who knows.

Covington can't be traded with another player until Jan. 11th.

So if we make a move for him I think it will be around that time (if not nearer to the trade deadline).

He would help our team A LOT. I think Knight+filler+2 1sts gets it done if we're interested. Are we?

I'm with you. I think Covington would be the perfect addition for this team. The fact that he's on a reasonable contract is icing on the Cov-cake.

This is a lesson for all the noobs who want the coach and GM fired. You guys don't know how bad it can get at least with Morey I can sleep at night knowing he won't **** up the team the next day.

They should have fired him either during the summer or right after Butler started his diva festival (but before that trade). Instead they put themselves right in the middle of 14th seed land and lost a valuable player for two players that are good but not worth having if your tanking.

Taylor is a joke of an owner. Just as bad as the Suns/Wizards ownership groups at this point.

Should've never fired Sam Mitchell. He had the franchise moving in the right direction, but as they always do, they gambled on somebody else who's "reputation" carries them. Sam Mitchell had the respect of the young guys in the locker room. Now you're firing his replacement for Fred Hoiberg? Another reputation guy smh

Agreed. Covington is the one non all star who fills the Ariza but better role we want now and wished we had last year. If we get him, we're as good as this team can be without adding another star. And, yes, he is the rare role player that is worth multiple 1st rd picks due to his amazing fit.
