Bump . PJ is still dead . His confidence in his jumper is non-existent at this point . Another 33 minutes for a player who is showing signs of being worn down . He is getting knocked to the floor more , he is weaker on the boards , and of course ... the aforementioned jumper going to **** . With house , green , Clark , and now Ennis available .... why do we keep running PJ into the ground . Isn't it more important that he rediscover his form and find some energy ? If are willing to play Austin rivers 40 + minutes and play Brandon ****ing night minutes ..... why are we not willing to have some of our forwards pick up the slack for PJ for a couple of games ?
To be honest if you watch the previous games where we have been down. We started to to catch up to leads when we took PJ out and inserted House at the 4..... It’s pretty simple to be honest.
KNIGHT HAS BEEN OK SEEING THE FACT HE HAS NO LEGS. IT WILL BE AWHILE BEFORE HE CAN MAKE AGGRESSIVE nba MOVES. cONDITIONING REPS SORELY NEEDED
I don't think house is better than PJ . I think that when he's locked in PJ really is a great player . But PJ isn't anywhere near 100 percent energy wise right now .... and I think cutting his minutes or giving him a night off would do him wonders and in turn help the whole squad
Tucker is playing out of position. He's not a PF. Him trying to bang down low and box out bigs I'm sure is running him in the ground.
Defensively when House is out there guarding, I just don’t remember he has stopped anybody. No PJ is a better defender there. But PJ needs to find a way to be more productive on the other end especially Harden gets so much attention.
When CP and Gordon are back, we will be ok. Of course, we need to get another wing before trade deadline.
He definitely is getting too many minutes. But the real problem is, even in a small ball era... there’s no real other PFs on the roster. Heck PJ himself is barely one. DM has spent years trying to find it land a PF if worth. It’s only the fact that the PF position has declined so much across the league that it hasn’t been an even bigger issue. If the Pelicans are clearly out of it by trade deadline I’d inquire hard about Julius Randle for picks effectively.
Tucker's defense and hustle is great and very useful for championship teams, but he's not doing enough to warrant starting and playing over 30 minutes a game. He has a PER of 8.69! Wow! Now he's struggling with his shot and he's never been an elite rebounder. We clearly need a PF that can help Capela on the defensive boards and space the floor for Harden. He's an injury risk but Kevin Love is a perfect fit to the offense and he's a monster rebounder.
Tucker is the perfect starter at PF given our financial restrictions and other priority areas we need to improve. Request: Name the Rockets backup PF. Exactly.
Nobody doubts that PJ is superior than House. You have pointed out very eloquently what needs to be done for him. Our choices are limited, I do think Clark should get some minutes. He can play some defense, and get a few rebounds. He can't be left completely alone at the 3 point line either.
because he is by far out best defender. isolation and help defender. he needs to be on the floor to give us a chance to win. the coaches know that all that work is effecting his shot on the offenseive end. its not that he doesn't have confidence, his legs are dead. but he's still that good on defense that you need him in there. this just shows how bad some of the others are. he's going to continue to play that many miinutes until morey gives him some help. reducing his minutes is not the answer either. house is not as good. green is bad at D, and so is ennis. austin is playing 40 minutes because he's a good defender.
He needs a rest.... We could use a PF that can also hit the 3 and rebound a bit. Is it too early to talk about DMo? DD
Tucker is fine. His lack of offense looks bad because we don't have Gordon and Paul. His minutes will also go down when they return. The team needs another long wing player. Investing resources in a power forward that can't switch against the Warriors is a waste of money/assets.
There are a lot of positives so far over the recent games. Harden is exploding and Capela is beasting on the boards. Morey's in season acquisitions House and Rivers have been great and have stepped up to fill in for injuries and have earned playing time when the team is healthy. Knight is starting to get more aggressive with more moves towards the basket and is getting better. The other players have been working hard on the floor and have been awesome with the energy levels and their play. Looking forward to CP3 and EG returning. Though there is a focus on being built for the Warriors, they are other teams to beat as well on the road for the championship. Teams with length and strong in rebounding are still causing problems for the Rockets. The Heat and Blazers are top ten in rebounding. Upcoming match ups against the conference leaders Nuggets and Bucks are going to be tough and they are both top ten in rebounding. Tucker has been playing heavy minutes all season and one worries about fatigue because he plays with a lot of energy. Rockets do need a SF/PF with length that can help box out and rebound but also hit the 3 ball. Clark is the future, but the Rockets may need another player to help especially against teams with height and length.
Yeah, either they give Clark more minutes or they bring another player with length to help rebounding and shoot the 3 ball to spell Tucker and not have him play heavy minutes every game.
