cont’d @saleem Clears some roster space. Rockets can give House a longer term contract, which allows Bruno Caboclo (sp?) to become a 2-way contract. Having D House as 2-way means he can play no more than 45 games with the Rockets.....about the same w/ Vipers. I don’t think House will be sent down to the G-league soon. So the Rockets will need to make a change eventually. House has played 19 games so far. About 25 more allowed as a 2-way player.
Yes, House is a great find. He will be certainly be signed to a guaranteed contract soon. Bruno is not eligible for a 2 way since he has completed 4 years in the NBA. Bimg clarified that for me in the RGV section.
Oh that’s right. How about Bruno modest contract. Or a couple 10 day contracts leading towards paying him the remainder of the season? 10 day contracts begin in a few days.
My opinion is that he needs more time with the Vipers. His shooting has improved a lot, but lack of strength and aggression is keeping him away from being an NBA player. His rebounding in particular needs to get better. I recognize that the Rockets have no rights to sign him.
Ok. I’m just guessing that when 10-day contracts are allowed in a few days, some team is taking him from us. Height, shot blocking, and 3-pt shooting are prime skills sought after in today’s NBA game.
I'm not opposed to giving Bruno two 10 day contracts. If he plays well, keep him for the rest of the year. If he doesn't, he can be cut after 20 days.
Yeah, 17 pts, 7 rebs, 3 blocks, at 41% from 3 can fit our system perfectly in the future. Many teams that want to play like us will be knocking on his agents door sometime next week. Just my opinion.

I really hope the players being reported arent of serious interest to this FO. KCP, for example, is a decent player and his stats show well. But he's not an improvement over House, nor is he accomplished in the clutch. In fact, if anyone saw the Lakers/Clippers game where he played well, he went absolutely dry late in the fourth. The only player who looked comfortable shooting for them late was Josh Hart, and we really dont need a 6'5'' guy who gets decent stats when a game doesnt mean a whole lot but shrinks on the big stage when needed. As far as I'm concerned, PJ and House are better PF options than most of the guys being mentioned, and EG and Austin give us better guard play than most on the market. Think of someone like Butler - his stats are not markedly better than EG (even though his numbers are down this season), and there's no reason to think he'd be a better clutch/playoff player than EG was last year. I was actually shocked that we offered 4 first-rounders for him, and I really hope we dont pursue him again. Our focus here should be very focused - improve our PF position with a big guy who can shoot and try to get in a better financial situation by lowering our cap number and getting rid of Knight. That's basically it. Our team is hitting its stride and there's no reason to get rid of guys who have been critical to the process.
I agree with a lot what you are saying. Our biggest need right now is a capable backup 4 and another center would be ideal too. Nene has gotten better, but I don't think he can play big every night. I wouldn't have given 4 first rounders for Butler, but he is an upgrade from Gordon, I admit. Butler's height gives him a big edge. His erratic behavior is a matter of concern. I don't think Philly will trade him though. I like EG a lot, and I hope he can get healthy soon and play well for us. I would hate to see him getting traded. I hope Chris will be back by the end of January at the latest.
I wouldnt be surprised for CP3 to sit through the all star break. If we can hold up decent play, I'd be in favor of him taking the added time off and focusing on his conditioning. I think on a night to night basis, Butler has more potential to give more than EG. But I think Butler wouldnt come off the bench, that he'd need more shots, that he'd be more of a nuisance in the locker room, and I'm not sure he'd make the big shots EG has already made for us at absolutely critical moments in big games. For all of his faults, EG is not scared to shoot big time shots, and he played really well when CP3 went down, even if we lost.
